Could it be that they're waiting to complete January JS1s before releasing the JS2s / JSnNos / JSjks for both January and December?
I see it playing out in two ways:
1. December JS1s hear back something either this week or next and Jan JS1s hear back in the second half of February
2. December and Jan JS1s here back something, en ensemble, in the first week of February.

JSJK accurately represents how one feels when getting hit with either a hold or a waitlist. You see the email in your inbox and think "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS," and then two seconds later you're smashing your face against the nearest brick wall.

I just want to know when the auto-dings are going to go out...
My gut says Friday, but then I am very hungry so it can't be trusted.

I went complete on 1/10.
Today I woke up to an email from Harvard in my inbox.
It informed me that I was still complete.

Historically it is on a Friday (last Friday, to be specific). I feel like it has to be late today or sometime tomorrow.SparkyZZZ wrote:I just want to know when the auto-dings are going to go out...

I have a feeling it'll be option 1, which means I'll be sitting through a round of JS2s before the round that could include mine.neprep wrote:Could it be that they're waiting to complete January JS1s before releasing the JS2s / JSnNos / JSjks for both January and December?

So JSW/JSjk/etc mean if you get a JS1 and then are waitlisted. What if you get a JS1 and then are rejected outright? Does that even happen?

ORRRRRR…you could have had a JS1 in December and be put in a maybe pile and hear back when Jan JS1-ers are hearing back.db1990 wrote:I have a feeling it'll be option 1, which means I'll be sitting through a round of JS2s before the round that could include mine.neprep wrote:Could it be that they're waiting to complete January JS1s before releasing the JS2s / JSnNos / JSjks for both January and December?

I guess that and any other denial could be a JSNo (or is it that already?)politics89 wrote:So JSW/JSjk/etc mean if you get a JS1 and then are waitlisted. What if you get a JS1 and then are rejected outright? Does that even happen?

So what does everyone think is the worst wait-
for your LSAT score, for a JS1, or for a JS2

LSAT score by far. I could barely function that month. And I have friends who don't TLS and they could barely function too, it's not just us lolGary wrote:So what does everyone think is the worst wait-

I didn't think LSAT was terrible because there was an assigned date on when it was going to come. Having it be able to come at any moment for the next few months is worse.Gary wrote:So what does everyone think is the worst wait-

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I was pretty serene during the LSAT wait. I was just glad to be done studying. As other have said, the finite window we had to wait made it bearable. Now once grey icons popped up, I was borderline insane for a few hours waiting.
This is hard just because you never know when something will happen. It's almost like every day is grey day.

Agreed. Plus, in the spirit of Mort's positivity (which btw has been hugely encouraging throughout the cycle), Harvard is great, but I know I'll be thrilled to be at any of the schools I've applied toscoobers wrote:LSAT score by far. For me I think it'll be, from hardest to easiest:
1. LSAT Score (GreyDay. Enough said.)
2. JS2 wait (Nothing you can do about it)
3. JS1 wait (At least you can prep/dress up for JS)

Agreed that app waiting is far worse than the LSAT wait. At least we knew that we would know by a set date, and you can always retake the LSAT. Once you get dat ding, it's all over (at least for this cycle, and in my case it would basically be over in perpetuity unless I applied in a few years with different WE).politics89 wrote:I didn't think LSAT was terrible because there was an assigned date on when it was going to come. Just wait until you have 1L grades. Then after you send out resumes. Then after you have an interview.Gary wrote:So what does everyone think is the worst wait-

The waiting never stops.

While GreyDay sucks, doesn't seeing calls coming out with similar JS1 dates suck more? Before I got my JS2 I like... had trouble sleeping the night before because I started to resign myself to not getting one one (I was on day 2 of 2) - neurotic and lame, yes, but whateverneprep wrote:For me I think it'll be, from hardest to easiest:

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
sorry to do this again, but someone messed up the spreadsheet again. I reverted the file to Jan 15, 8:07 AM PT. If you've made any changes to your stats since that time, you'll have to re-do them. sorry for the inconvenience.
not to be a dick, but if you're not confident you can manipulate the spreadsheet seamlessly, please export yourself a local copy and mess around with that one. The individuals looking after the spreadsheet can't monitor them 24/7, and by the time we fix them, we may lose >24 hours of data (as it happened here)

LSAT wait was absolutely the worst. Though JS1/JS2 don't really apply for me at this moment since I haven't gone complete, I can imagine it being less intense than the LSAT wait.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
