I wouldn't think so. I thought the March 1 date was just suggested so that they could get back to you promptly.

This probably means 2015-2016. You should probably call the finaid office and ask. Did you get a final loan package email with a form to sign and return?

Has anyone with a full ride offer been able to negotiate

1) full tuition for three years rather than the cost of full tuition THIS YEAR for all three years?
2) Living Expenses

But I'm going to be checking out very soon. I had a lot of fun at ASW and think very highly of Wash U. I didn't feel like it was a fit for me, though. I'm so happy for all of you who have reached the "decision point" and would like to point out that after I withdraw, admissions will have the scholarship money they offered to me back in play for all of you :-)

Good luck to everyone in 1L, wherever you end up!

You will need perfect numbers to pull this off. And by perfect, i don't necessarily mean high. Just perfectly aligned with the school's target medians. For all intents and purposes, assume you won't get it.

Also, i wouldn't worry about tuition increases. They're tiny compared to other schools..and our starting tuition itself is already lower than everyone else.

how low tuition starts is irrelevant when you have full tuition to start, whatever the difference he would have to pay it

It's relevant because tuition increases, at all schools, are set as a percentage as a matter of administrative policy. So if the starting tuition is lower then the tuition increases are lower. At WashU the annual tuition increase is usually 3%, which is a lower percentage than other schools. But even if every other school increased its tuition by 3%, the dollar amount changes depending on what the base tuition is.

Yeah, I mean I'd be super hesitant to try it, and I'd think it'd be looking a really great gift horse in the mouth to ask for something like that.
