Who are the 6? I only know of 3-the person who had the thread about Gtown v. Mich and then the two posters from yesterdayJuniperCreekEsq wrote:Are we at 6 admits off of TLS alone since the most recent FAQ update?

This is what happens when you're on 7 waitlists....
Sorry, I conflated recent admits from the GW thread this week. 3 is correct.

I count 3 as well. Though let's bear in mind that I highly doubt this forum is exhaustive in regards to the population of WL admits.

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
At this late date, do you think there's any point in sending LOCIs? I had been doing it monthly, but I honestly have nothing new to report (and my job is ending, which gives me less nothingness to work with). The only purpose would be to show continued interest, but given that it is basically July and I'm still on this thing they probs know. Having said that, I don't want to say at the end of this that I didn't do everything I could to hustle off this waitlist. What are people's thoughts on this?

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
I don't think it would hurt, but I also think, as you noted, that they are well aware or your level of interest at this stage. Anyone think there are still offers to be made? This is entirely conjecture but I feel like, with a holiday weekend approaching, they would have wanted to get all the offers out before then. It's fairly late in the game.

I sure hope not.
When do you think is a reasonable time to give up on your WL chances at any school and move on? Middle of July?

I believe that I read at some point on the website that they intend to have the class finalized by mid-July, at which point the only chance for an opening would be in the event of no shows at orientation. Their FAQ says this happens, albeit rarely.

Hey all, popping in to say that since my LSAT didn't go up I'll be withdrawing from the waitlist. Good luck, I'll be busy eating BBQ and trying to stop women from having any agency (Texas)

I spoke with them recently. They are still waiting on some people to get back to them, so there's that.terps8787 wrote:Anyone have anything to report? Looks like the FAQ has not been updated in awhile...

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
Hey guys, long time lurker checking in. I was called by the Office of Admissions yesterday to ask me if I was still interested in a place in this year's class. I said I was and they said they'd be in touch (but stopped short of offering me a place on the spot). Has anyone else heard of having this experience? Does this mean an offer is on the way; and if so, when? If not, is this just a form of cruel and unusual punishment?

Two possibilities:HOS wrote:Hey guys, long time lurker checking in. I was called by the Office of Admissions yesterday to ask me if I was still interested in a place in this year's class. Possibility A) They're looking for you to say that you would attend for sure. They make a few calls to those with the best numbers who they think are still interested, then they make offers to the ones who seem most dedicated.
Possibility B) Congrats on the new LSAT score. I assume they have not given your application much of a look since you applied, and it makes sense that with the improved score they're wondering if they should bother to give it a closer look. The fastest way for them to figure that out is to call and ask.
Also, engineering degree and a 169, you should be able to swing a modest scholarship.

Thanks for the advice. They said they'd be in touch shortly but I'm not going to lie, it's only 36 hours later and I can barely stop myself from calling them back to ask if they've come to a decision (makes me feel a little like I'm in a second date type situation, which is weird...).

HOS - is Michigan your first choice? Were you sending LOCI's and what not? Just trying to get a feel for what's going on at this point...

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
I called them today and they didn't give a whole lot of info-they seemed to say that, even though it hadn't been updated in awhile, the FAQ page is still an accurate reflection of the state of play. I asked if there was anything I could do on my end to be helpful and it was the usual spiel- if I hadn't done so already, send a LOCI, a LOR, etc. Maybe they are having issues filling those 10 spots?terps8787 wrote:HOS - is Michigan your first choice? Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
Michigan is my first choice school, yes. If I fail to get in, I'm going to reapply next cycle. Also, I had sent two LOCI earlier in the year (I think the last one I sent was at the beginning of June). What really changed in my application was my LSAT went from 164 to 169 in June. Pretty much the day after scores were released they got in touch.

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
Which makes me think Option B from my above comment. Chances are you just went to number one on the waitlist. You're (edit: at or above) their median LSAT, and your GPA doesn't count, so you should be admitted.HOS wrote:Michigan is my first choice school, yes. Re: Michigan Waitlist 2013
What are everyone's thoughts on reapplying next cycle? Aggregate law school applicant numbers dropped steeply this year, and it seems like this trend will continue in the foreseeable future. Does a waitlist candidate who doesn't make the cut this year have a good shot at admission next year? If nothing else, you'd show effort and dedication, for whatever it's worth.

I absolutely have to get in this cycle. If I had the luxury of taking everyone's advice and reapplying, I'd strongly consider it. You've come this far... it's a tough choice.terps8787 wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on reapplying next cycle?
