Sent an email today confirming that they received my scholarship negotiation email I sent a few weeks ago that I hadn't heard a response about. No response to this email as well.

WUSTL just went from #1 to #4. Pretty frustrating.

Sent an email today confirming that they received my scholarship negotiation email I sent a few weeks ago that I hadn't heard a response about. No response to this email as well.

I mean, they're ignoring all my communication.

And I withdrew from GWU because of minimal scholarship today and they emailed me 10 minutes later telling me that they are re-assessing my original scholarship with an extension of my deposit deadline until they come back with a higher offer.

and still UR at Vandy. People with worse numbers have been getting ding letters the past week but I seemed to have survived the onslaught

I almost feel like they offered more than they intended to, and so the money is drying up because they think they might end up with a larger class size than their goals, both as far as scholarships paid and number of people. It seems they are being much less responsive in general and anecdotally, have given out much more than any peer school, and several lower school. It seems like for most people WUSTL is giving more than Emory, ND, W&L, etc. I hope I am wrong though. Can you ask MAC for us Cuse (also, that may be why iirc, somebody mentioned putting the target back at 200, maybe they know it is going to be big and want to temper the blow)?

They've been pretty responsive to me both in speed and quality with questions in the past few days.

Ya no idea I haven't talked to them ever.

couple questions:
whats average cost of rent? would rather have my own apartment but open to a roommate
How hard is it to find an apt.? im coming straight from joburg and want to know if i can find an apartment over the internet or if i have to do this all in person.
do i need a car in st. louis?
im sorry if this sounds ridiculous but ive never actually lived on my own sooooooo this whole moving to a different country/city is intense.

I am going to try to live alone without a car too, at least initially.

If I were you, and you have never lived alone, I would start trying to cook for yourself/your family/your friends as much as you can in the next few months and pay attention to some of the small things your parents do as far as grocery shopping, paying bills, and day to day shit.

I have lived by myself for the past two years (well, my cats are there too) and absolutely love it, and some people do, but really think about it, because I know some that have tried it and complain of getting lonely. But you can always rescue a cute new friend from a shelter!

Keep in mind that your friends/classmates are probably gonna be okay with organizing group grocery runs and giving you the occasional ride to the airport and stuff like that

The wash U one includes faculty and staff so I would guess Law Students are also included.

Why not just call the office? I would be as aggressive as possible. I called them about about trying to increase my stipend from $200 to $600 for ASD because I live far away. They said no way, but at least I got the response ASAP.

From what I have heard the faculty all voted to redirect their bonuses to increase the scholarship pool. Plus correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe WUSTL has one of the largest endowments in the United States for universities, so I would bet the money keeps coming.
