Waking up to "You've been admitted to William and Mary" in the tagline isn't exactly exciting, but still stoked on it either way. Bummed I didn't get a scholarship offer though. Does anyone know if they wait for you to get other acceptances or something? At the risk of sounding arrogant I really expected a scholarship offer from them.
wow i didn't even get an email

I received an email the day after my status checker said I was admitted, so most likely it is on the way.

Congrats!

Are you seriously complaining about how you were accepted, in a thread in which several people haven't heard back yet?

ETA: I don't mean that in reference to your question about scholarships, I mean that in reference to the first part of your post.

hahaha I'm sorry guys. I just thought it would've been nice if they had something like "William & Mary Admissions Decision" in the subject line. I appreciate suspense. I guess the suspense is whether or not they send me a scholarship offer along with my packet. I'll be obsessively checking the mail for the next week now... Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard back yet.

I did. I forwarded them my scholarship offers from UVA and Florida. I emailed the dean and literally 30 minutes later she emailed me right back increasing my offer. I have been so impressed with how prompt, attentive, and friendly W&M has been so far :)

I also got the key chain and notepad. First package of little goodies received from any of the law schools I've applied to so far.
I emailed W&M a week ago with another one of my scholarship offers and haven't heard a thing back from them....

VA resident and my initial offer was only 8k/year

I did not receive as prompt a reply as lookingin either. I guess we know who the rockstars around here are.

This week marks five months since I've been complete and in review. The battle of wills continues.

At what point would it be appropriate to call? I understand not upping the offer right away but the fact that I haven't even received acknowledgment of the email makes me wonder.

I have an above median GPA and above 75% LSAT and the offer I sent them is a significant amount of money from a school ranked much higher for what it's worth.

I did not receive acknowledgment of my email either, if it makes you feel any better.

For all those that emailed W & M with other offers, it might be worth sending a reminder at some point. I emailed some schools with pretty formal requests in an effort to open up merit aid negotiations and didn't hear back from some for a while because it ended up in their junk email (as one school notified me). A week or so after I had heard nothing from W & M I sent a nice reminder without trying to sound too pushy and they were very nice, emailed me back within the hour.

I don't want them to get bombarded with bothersome emails haha, just letting y'all know that if they sounded like mine they (for whatever reason) could have gotten flagged as spam.

Wow, I probably got really lucky and emailed Dean Shealy right as they were deciding scholarships or something for the next batch of admits... My email to her was also really in depth; I emailed her all sorts of figures and estimates and tried to be really persuasive while simultaneously also sending her copies of my other offers so she'd have everything right in front of her. Maybe that helped? Weird, sorry guys. I hope she'll get back to yall soon.

Yeah I went ahead and sent them a nice reminder email this afternoon to go along with my USC offer that I just received. Hopefully they get back to me soon but thanks for the heads up about it potentially getting flagged as spam.

They send me letters like every week, and I just got a set of post-it notes and a key chain in the mail today. It's flattering, but kind of amusing! I'm hoping when I go down and visit I can talk them into giving me more money since clearly they like me.
Yeah they sent me post-its yesterday. I loled. But seriously getting so many big envelopes in the mail is a little deceiving. I keep getting excited for another acceptance and then I get post-its.

Eh, you guys aren't done yet. I imagine they have to get some withdraws before they can send out all their acceptances. I withdrew last night, so there's a spot. Good luck!

Me too.

I don't imagine they can keep up with the cash W&L threw out this year. It seems many people with lucrative aid from W&L either haven't heard from W&M or got significantly less from them. At least four people on here seem to have contacted them trying to negotiate W&L aid.

I'm pretty sure I'll be withdrawing. I was just waiting it out to see if I had a chance at money. But if I'm going to be waitlisted, as soon as it's confirmed I'm withdrawing.

Hey guys!

I have been trying to negotiate my scholarship with W&M and today I received an email from the assistant dean of admissions regarding outside scholarship opportunities.

It was addressed to me so I was wondering if that was an email they sent everyone or if that was her response to my scholarship negotiation?

Thanks!
