Because they want you to apply. Schools want as many people to apply as possible.2012Lsatscore wrote:Anyone have any idea why Minnesota is giving me a lot of attention? I've gotten several e-mails and a view book just came in the mail. My numbers are both under the medians 164/3.69(3.76) and I live on the other end of the country.
I'm not going to bother with an application; I'm just curious.

My status changed to "In Review" all the way back on 10/5. No change since. Anyone have reason to believe the first round will be out by Christmas?

I think by Christmas is reasonable. LSNinfo shows many decisions coming out in November

Re: Minnesota c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
That does ease my troubled mind a bit. I'm interested in studying at one of the T25 schools that dot the Midwest, then returning to Nebraska to practice, since I know a few people here and have some great connections through my mom's employment at one of the state's top law firms. Wouldn't really call it "BigLaw", but, the cost of living here is low, lots of family, and I have an interest in considering a political career in this state in the future.Arisok wrote:Thanks! 10/5, I think, was when it went in review.timeandspace11 wrote:Congrats!!! I so greatly regret that freshman year. Troubles with anxiety and depression didn't help, but, it was never to a degree where it really explained my mediocre performance of 2.97 overall. so I felt that it would be improper to include it in addendums. Was mainly a pathetic lack of effort, I'd probably hate freshman me if I could meet him again.

Does anyone expect their medians to drop a little this year do to the lower number off applicants?

Last years changes:
Minnesota: 167 (0), 3.8 (0), 205 (-46, -16.67%)
It is estimated apps will be down another 15% or so across the nation this cycle.
IDK what they are going to do. Im guessing they will do everything they can to maintain 167, which would likely mean cutting the class size a bit.

Re: Minnesota c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Thats understandable. I certainly think law schools probably should be cutting class sizes, but you also have to consider how much they can cut before losing revenue. That said I do believe the school has generous alumni donations.Nova wrote:Last years changes:

They can mitigate the revenue loss by raising tuition though.timeandspace11 wrote:Thats understandable.
