15K/year. I'm just above one median and below the other. I wasn't really expecting anything from them so it was exciting and might mean there will be some good scholarship offers for others too.AlanShore wrote:nice. what did you get, if you dont mind?gmp wrote:I got my acceptance packet in the mail today with scholarship info!

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
Just looked at my scholarship packet today...$60k. Certainly not bad but I would really like to get it closer to $75k to become a prime option. U Minn gave me $72k but tuition is more expensive so overall costs seemed to be close to equal. I am going to ask BU to match Minnesota.
In other news I was up in Boston for a few days, and my aunt and cousin drove me past the law school building and then around the Allston area. It seemed really cool and lively.

Does anyone know if BU negotiates much? If so, any advice as to when is the best time to negotiate? Hope everyone is having/had a nice break!

This thread helped me a lot with understanding negotiating for merit aid. Im not sure when exactly is the best time, but I imagine you would want to wait before you have competitive offers from other schools of similar rankings. With fewer appliants this year you may have more leverage tha in previous years.

Nice! Do you think you have any strong softs that helped? I'm wondering because I have 166/ 3.6+ which seem to be close to your numbers, but they only offered me 60K. I think all of us admitted RD so far were deferred from ED. So I don't think you should worry too much. ams929: i was ed to rd also, so don't fret!
edwardt1988: the soft factor that i believe helped me most was the improvement i showed over time. during my first two years of undergrad i had a 3.1, but during my last five quarters i held a gpa between 3.93 and 4.1. also during those five quarters i was working 18 hours a week, assisting a grad student with his research, serving as president to club sports team, and had a 3 month internship. i also like to think my personal statement helped a bit (pm me if you want to read it).
as for negotiating more money, i haven't looked into how much boston tends to negotiate, but 5k a year is not a ton of money to a law school. given that, I'd like to think BU wouldn't mind throwing you a bit more cash. good luck

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
It looks like last year there were acceptances this week (apparently most schools won't begin admissions decisions until next week?), so that's a good omen.AlanShore wrote:updated to today as well! hope it's a good sign!
