Georgetown Waitlist 2012
Apologies if this thread already exists. It's for GULC waitlist news. Who's in off the WL already? Who's riding it out? Are you Special Preferred, Preferred, or Regular? Any chance of $ off the WL? In short, 'tsup?
Me, I'm preferred but not special preferred. Gonna ride it out until July 1 or so. Sending a LOCI today.
Sound off.

For what its worth. There were a lot of people at the ASW who were far from set on attending. There could be a lot of movement in May-June.

On preferred WL. I would definitely go if admitted. I'm debating on whether to place a seat deposit at another school or wait it out and hope for the best.

Preferred and will wait it out. For what it's worth, I don't see many people selected for the Special Preferred attending Georgetown just because they typically had higher ranked options.

Checking in - also a preferred WL-er. Would attend if offered. Otherwise will be going to Fordham. We'll see what happens.

I'm on the preferred and would attend if accepted.
Has anyone had any updates to their status checker since being placed on the PWL? I had two updates in March (after being put on it in January), and I hope it means something good.

10 people on LSN say they are already "WL, Accepted." Presumably those all came from Special Preferred? Does anyone know?

I know of one person on the PWL (not special) who was accepted, just from reading these forums. Everyone else seems to be from the special PWL.Robespierre wrote:10 people on LSN say they are already "WL, Accepted." Presumably those all came from Special Preferred? Does anyone know?
Have people on the PWL had any status checker updates?

Special preferred here. Just sent a LOCI. My interview really sold me on Georgetown actually.

God, that is so true. I've been trying to get away from snow ever since I moved out of my parents' house. Hint: I've failed.moxy wrote:Come to Georgetown. Ithaca is cold.Green Glass Windows wrote:Preferred as well. Gonna ride it out, but I would have a killer decision if I got in...

Regular WL, seems like I'm the only one in here. This is going to be a long summer of thinking "what if".

The weather in DC is way too swampy for my taste, but that's just the summer....Green Glass Windows wrote:God, that is so true. I wonder how big the SPWL is. If 10 people from it reported on LSN that they got in, I assume the "real life" number is more like 20 or 30. That would be a big chunk of the SPWL, no?

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2012
I've been on the special preferred waitlist since February 3. I attended a group interview on March 31. I sent in a LOCI with an additional LOR. I've heard nothing from them at all. I was admitted three years ago when I previously applied. I think "special preferred" in my case means "no chance we'll admit you this time."

Well, April 1 was the deposit date for scholarship people, and there's no sign of any WL movement since then. They must've gotten a good yield on that date. Seems like a bad sign for us, no?
