Congrats to all the new admits! Hope to see some of you at the open house on March 30th. Good luck to those still waiting.

Thanks! I'll be in some of the Skype sessions...I'm in AZ, so I'll see if I can make one of the events up there as well!

Still no official admittance letter w/ financial aid packet and I received email notification of my acceptance a couple of weeks ago. Is anyone who has been admitted still waiting on the packet to arrive? I live in Seattle so it shouldn't take long once it ships . . .

Does anyone know what carrier the packets are being shipped through?

Post office.

And just in case anyone is wondering, I tried to negotiate the stip away and failed. Will most likely be somewhere else next year :(

Thanks! UPS delivered a package to my complex apartment's office and they can't find it, so I'm glad to know it wasn't my packet. Sorry to hear about the stip. I'm sweating over how to pay for the move and everything, so I'm very undecided right now. Need to hear back from some schools closer to me.

How long did it take to hear back from them? I'm attempting to negotiate a schol. increase, but I am doubtful. Thanks.

I think it took about a week, but she did say that she was out of town and apologized for taking so long.

Hello, I'm new to the thread. Was curious if anyone had applied on the later end (March 1) and had heard anything yet? Thank you!

Applied mid-Feb, and still no word. Maybe I've been forgotten.

Application completed Mar 9, still shows "Decision Pending". Hopefully they can move faster. Quick no is better than slow yes... this is torturing... :(

Aside from the ASD that SU holds, does anyone know of any opportunities to interact with current students or recent graduates?

I'm leaning towards SU, but the less than stellar job prospects are making me nervous. Before I commit myself to $150K of debt I'd like to chat with people who have "been there, done that" so to speak and gauge their feelings for the long term return on investment for their SU law degree. While it's probably true that unless you are among the top 20%, your chances for a top paying law job are marginal at best coming out of SU. I'd like to know how SU grads fare 3-7 years after graduation.

I applied to SU, as well. But I would not go to SU for $150K. Look at the employment numbers, they are not good. Even top grads do not get out making six figures... My educated guess is that SU grads who have $150K in debt are not doing too well 3-7 years down the road. Compounding interest and marginal job prospects don't make SU a good idea at $150. UDub owns the Seattle market and just jumped about ten spots in the last ranking. Just my .02 worth of unsolicited advice.

Just saw that SU posted 2011 employment statistics, that apparently are pending a release from NALP. (At the bottom of the page).

http://www.law.seattleu.edu/Careers/Emp ... istics.xml

If these are accurate, they are very troubling for me. 135 full time bar required jerbs out of a class of ~315, not to mention that a good amount of those 135 are likely graduates at their "solo practices". That's even worse than 2010.

Any current SU or potentially future students care to comment on this?

Went to the open house on Friday and I was not impressed, both with the facilities and the staff. I again requested to be re-evaluated for merit aid. Was told to buzz off, so I withdrew. Hope someone enjoys my spot.

I felt the same way after the open house a few months ago and they wouldn't play ball with the obnoxious stipulation so I'm going elsewhere as well.

They honestly told me that I could meet with financial aid, but the wait could be three hours. Or I could just email them. I flew 1,000 miles to have them tell me to email financial aid...

Oh well. I had a nice vacation in Seattle.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
