Oh no, I didn't take it the wrong way. I've just heard that Tulane students are especially down-to-earth and nice, so its nice to hear some confirmation of that.

staying at lee circle you're also 2 minutes from the best happy hour ever ($0.75 pulled pork sliders) at the American Sector (the ww2 museum's restaurant)
Good to know!

Does anyone know how hard it is to defer for one year at Tulane? And if you do defer can you keep your scholarship? The bad part in my situation is I wouldn't know until late July whether I wanted to or not depending on a job offer.

Good luck too you guys. I am from New Orleans, and everyone looks at TU as one of the best Law Schools in the country. People, from New Orleans, considers TU the Harvard of the South- true or not.

We should have a 23rd-24th admitted students bar night. Who else is going this week?

I called on Friday because it marked my 8 weeks since my first complete (with a second complete on 3/12). Discussed all this with the extremely nice woman who answered my call and she said that since it was in fact 8 weeks she'd make a note on my app so I can hopefully hear back in the next few weeks. Crossing my fingers this works!

I have been complete since 2/9. Tulane is looking like a very good option for me and I really would consider going there. So far in at:
Cardozo
American
Miami
FSU
Brooklyn
WL at Fordham
Hold at UF

162/3.2/URM

Any chance i get in here?

I'm definitely down. PM me if you want to swap numbers or anything. A bunch of us tried this at the Fordham ASW but it fell apart because no one knew how to get in touch with one another

Anyone had luck negotiating scholarships? It's my #1 choice, but it's just so expensive!

Also, are they nice with schollies? Or cheap bastards like [insert school here]?
They were very generous with scholly with me. Also, I didn't try to negotiate since they gave me the highest offer.

I found out if you defer you get put back into the pool next year for scholarships. Anyone know if applications will still be down for next year because it would suck to get a scholarship reduction.

I was told by the Associate Dean that they do not negotiate. Even with a sizable scholarship, Tulane is still very expensive. I'm visiting this weekend and am worried I will fall in love with it...

Nice, got a couple of people interested in a bar night. Hit me up with a PM if you want to go or have any bar suggestions. I'm gonna go poll some friends to find a not-super-crazy place to meet up.

They gave me the highest offer out of everywhere that I've gotten scholarships so far and they're higher ranked than all the other places except George Mason. Also, keep in mind that the COL in New Orleans is pretty cheap from what I hear - definitely helps out!

Has anyone thought about maybe establishing a facebook group for the Fall 2012 incoming class? Doesn't seem to be anything active as of now. May be a good way to get to know prospective fellow students :)
