1) What people did this morning is different from what happened in the article.
2) Law school admissions and business school admissions are different. I'd like to see CLS rescind those acceptances, many of which were for people above both medians.

Maybe. But if they've shut down the password access while that password is still out there on VCEs that haven't even been opened yet today, it does mean they care quite a bit. Who knows whether they'll do anything else beyond changing the password and sending an email to notify admitted students, but it does create a lot work for them and they can't be happy about it.dakure wrote:You guys are fucking nuts.

I'm plenty relaxed; I'm into NYU and would go there over CLS regardless.dakure wrote:They aren't going to do anything. Relax.crumpledq wrote:Maybe. My point is that there is a legitimate position of concern between the extremes of freaking out and derisively dismissing those who are worried, and that position is supported by the fact that they care enough to shut down the password access on the same day that people are receiving VCEs.

No there isn't. CLS is not going to reject people who they've already admitted. It has never happened before. It will not happen now. Unfounded speculation is what drives TLSers crazy and makes this place a gathering place for the herp derp and retarded at times. IF it happens, we'll deal with it when it happens. Right now, all signs, even the changed PW which i'm not sure has even been changed, point to there being no change with respect to decisions. I just called a student at the school who works in admissions and she said she hasn't heard anything about it. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down and stop justifying abjectly retarded and illogical positions based purely on emotion.crumpledq wrote:

How many people have already received their VCEs in NYC and the tri-state area?

This. There have been many times I went to log onto NYU's ASW and it just hasn't worked. It always came back up. It could be a coincidence.

Well I think the link to it is gone from the Admissions page, as well.thatkid wrote:dakure wrote:No there isn't. CLS is not going to reject people who they've already admitted. Hey, CLS 1L here...just some notes:
1. I started a questions thread here.
2. For what it's worth: last year I submitted 11/24, went complete 12/15, got a grades request 1/5, and was emailed 3/8 saying my decision was in the mail with a scanned copy of the acceptance letter. My point is, they do many batches and you don't know until you know. Don't read too much into what's going on with other people; I know I did last year. Good luck!

They aren't unadmitting anyone. They aren't rendering new judgements. They are changing the PW. Breathe.Dear Admitted Student,
Congratulations on your admission to Columbia Law School. Recently it has come to our attention that login information to the Admitted Student Website has been made public by one of our admitted students. Therefore, we must change the passcode in order to limit access to admitted students only.
We intend to email the new passcode to you in short order. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you refrain from sharing, blogging or otherwise publicizing this proprietary information.
Best wishes,
Office of Admissions
Columbia Law School
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
