VCE!!!!!!!!! It is postmarked Jan 31st. I live in the southeast so I guess it took a couple of days to get here. So excited.
Columbia is DEFINITELY sending multiple batches, so I'm sure that all you super qualified TLSers who didn't get in last week will be hearing happy news soon. Good luck all!!
ETA: And the Voldemort thing absolutely positively did not work for me last week either.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys! Congrats to operagrl71 as well! I'm sure that you will all be hearing good news soon.
I am trying to be conservative about where I post my numbers these days, so please do me a favor and don't quote me because I might just delete the post later. I gave way too much information about myself away in my first few TLS posts and I don't want to be identified by potential adcomms.
Edited.

As a fellow early-October URM applicant who failed the Voldemort test, this gives me hope.

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I got an email from Columbia yesterday asking me for my fall grades:
""Dear candycat,
Upon its initial review of your application for admission to our 2012 entering class, the Admissions Committee has requested that you submit your fall term, 2011 grades for its consideration.
As soon as possible, please send us a report of your fall term grades by email, while at once requesting from your registrar that an official transcript be sent directly to Columbia Law School.
We appreciate your cooperation in this regard and look forward to continuing our review of your candidacy for admission to Columbia"
Is this a good or bad thing?? I applied with a 3.8x but my fall term grades lowered it (A-, A-, B, B)
Edit: also congrats to everyone who got a VCE so far!

Neither good nor bad. Some of us got in without a grade request and some of us got in with a grade request.candycat wrote:I got an email from Columbia yesterday asking me for my fall grades:

Columbia is a long shot for me. 171, 3.85. I went complete late November. Do VCEs seem to be going in order of submission date or by scores? (i.e. auto-admits first wave, then borderline..) Losing hope...

According to LSN, it seems like most of the people admitted in the first few rounds (end of January) had auto admit numbers, or close to it.lawschool899 wrote:Columbia is a long shot for me. 171, 3.85. The latest submission I see with an acceptance by it is 12/23, with only a few from the weeks preceding. A whole long line of pendings after that with later submission dates.lawschool899 wrote:thats what it seemed like to me as well. glad someone agrees!Bronck wrote:According to LSN, it seems like most of the people admitted in the first few rounds (end of January) had auto admit numbers, or close to it.lawschool899 wrote:Columbia is a long shot for me. 171, 3.85.
