Harvard Waitlist 2011

The list grows ever longer!

Of those admitted, 4 were above both medians, 1 was below both medians and non-URM, 2 were URM and below both medians, and the other 9 were above one median but below the other; moreover, 8 were admitted in May, 4 in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, and 2 had no date reported (though the date of the last update to the Harvard field for both seems to indicate it was probably in August).

Just put this in the applicants thread but it's useful here too:
...

FYI, I just pulled all the wait list data off LSN from last year:

149 reported wait lists:
20 Rejected
16 Admitted
77 No update indicated
36 Withdrew

Of those admitted, 4 were above both medians, 1 was below both medians and non-URM, 2 were URM and below both medians, and the other 9 were above one median but below the other; moreover, 8 were admitted in May, 4 in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, and 2 had no date reported (though the date of the last update to the Harvard field for both seems to indicate it was probably in August).

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin!

I'll join this party for a bit. Not really sure if I should accept their offer or not...

(I'm of course referring to the waitlist offer, heh)

Not to white knight my own thread, but it's a lot easier to look for waitlist info for a school in its own thread (as opposed to digging through a hundred page long regular thread) IME.

Those are actually fairly decent odds. A lot better than I would have thought.

My dad says they "probably don't let just anyone on their list." So we should be proud of that. lol

Lol, little does your dad know that they seem to let more people on than not.

Of those accepted in May, was that early or late May? I haven't sent Harvard my fall transcript yet and I feel like waiting for spring grades would be nice since they could see my honors but it might screw me since grades won't be final till May 17th.

JR1s came out in early may last year. The first round anyways.

No drop-off date for me. If I'm three weeks into class and I get the call I will go.

Tagging this thread. I was waitlisted this morning (Thursday, April 21, 2011 @ 11:31 PM ET). It's going to be a long, cruel summer.

I just moved here from Held. Nice to know that I no longer have to explain what "Held" means when my family inevitably asks me about my status at Harvard. Otherwise, feeling pretty content with the wait list given my 167 LSAT.

Why do people put deferred on their LSN profiles for Harvard waitlists?

I had deferred on mine as a way of saying that I got held.

I know of someone who was admitted off the WL in very early May last year. I can't remember if it was a joint JR1/JR2, but they had not previously had a JR1.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
