Re: Waitlisted at GW
Does anyone know what GW thinks about waitlisted applicants sending in more LORs? Tried calling them but no answer.

Re: Waitlisted at GW
Was the consensus that they don't give money to people off the WL?
I was really high on GW early in the process but, to be honest, was kind of surprised I didn't get admitted, and while I'd love to get in off the WL, probably can't attend without scrilla.

Anyone know how many people were taken off the list last year?

Re: Waitlisted at GW
Most places won't give a scholly off the wait list. If you are a great candidate statistically, though, I wouldn't write it off completely.
Def send in more LOR's. Anything you can do to help your case, you should do!

Looks like mid-May is the time we need to watch out for, judging by last year's thread.

Re: Waitlisted at GW
I was waitlisted about a week and a half ago, and sent in my first LOCI yesterday.
Has anyone visited the campus? How did it go and what did you do while you were there? I'm planning to visit sometime this, or next, week.

Scholarships: sometimes you get them even if you get in off the waitlist, Fordham gave me 15k that way, plus some to cover my GW deposit.
Visits: You may want to consider that if you come this week we're in exams, if you come next week there will be no students around

Re: Waitlisted at GW
just got this...
Jo,
Good morning. I write with a wait list update.
Our Admissions Committee is in the process of reviewing the files of all wait listed candidates. We will be making offers of admission to a limited number of candidates between now and Monday, May 2nd. We also will ask some wait-listed candidates to continue to wait with us.
I have been receiving questions about financial aid for applicants who may be admitted from the wait list. Financial aid will be available for those admitted from the wait list in the form of GW Law need-based grants (for those who qualify for significant financial need) and student loans. There are no merit funds available.
We will send e-mail notifications to those admitted from the wait list. We also will send acceptance packages via US mail that will include information about required seat deposits and the process of applying for financial aid.
Thank you for your patience throughout this process. I will be in touch on or before Monday, May 2nd.
Anne

Re: Waitlisted at GW
I got it and told them if there was no money i wasn't interested. I think its because I didn't have any coffee this morning as I didn't expect there to be, but for some reason telling me before I even issuing acceptance pissed me off.
Anyway, one less WL competitor, good luck to you guys!

Re: Waitlisted at GW
I got the message mentioning no merit aid. My guess? They got a wave of instant responses to the first few they sent out asking about schollys, so they added the bit about no merit aid to the ones sent this morning.

Re: Waitlisted at GW
Yes I did. I received an email yesterday afternoon (it was the second email listed here, the one that didn't mention merit/financial aid). I sent a quick response, something to the effect of "Thank you for the update - crossing my fingers since GW is my first choice"). Then got the acceptance email a few hours ago todayStudent13 wrote:philswfc2008 wrote:Just got the email - I'm in off the waitlist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
