I'll be there. Anyone know anywhere cool I can go tonight while I'm in town?

if you're from out of town, check out hollywood. If you're in westwood, try Brewco or Maloneys or Barneys.DuxBellorum wrote:I'll be there. Anyone know anywhere cool I can go tonight while I'm in town?

It's a gorgeous day, you should consider going to the beach and maybe checking out 3rd street promenade. Cafe Crepe is a personal favorite food place for me.

Just got in a bit ago. Relaxing in my plush hostel before heading out to try to re-set my internal clock a bit.

I'll be in the area around 2:30 today, let me know if you're interested in meeting up somewhere before heading over to the law school!

Hope to meet some of you at the reception tonight. I'll be driving down to Westwood from work in a little while.

Everyone enjoy the admitted students event? I for one was very impressed by them having an open bar.

It was pretty good. Felt a bit too short, though. Would've been good to be able to sit in actual classes, for one thing. But I definitely enjoyed it.

very impressed by the ASD. The admitted students were on their shit. Kind of intimidating, in a good way

An open bar? Yessssss. In all seriousness (as I know this question got laughed at in another thread), can those who went to the ASD let me know what the attire is please?

Hi. Thanks for all the helpful info ppl have already posted.
What address did you all use when emailing Dean Schwartz? Did you find his email or did you just send it to admissions@law.ucla.edu?

Yeah, I think you can show up in anything (I was the clown in a tshirt and jeans) but unlike the GULC ASW, most people here wore a dress shirt and slacks (for the guys at least).Redsgomarchingon wrote:business casualsantoinettea wrote:An open bar? If you e-mail the admissions email and it's something for him he will get back to you. I would not e-mail him directly unless he e-mailed me first, but maybe that's just me.tlv wrote:Hi. Thanks for all the helpful info ppl have already posted.

He actually answered the office phone yesterday rather than a secretary--he's pretty accessible.
I was pretty impressed with the ASD> the law students we met were very candid and the other admits seemed pretty cool. And ya... how about that open bar?

Totally agree, he's awesome, but i would still go through main admissions email/phone unless i had previously talked to him about whatever it is i was emailing/calling about (in which case i'd probably go straight to him)DuxBellorum wrote:He actually answered the office phone yesterday rather than a secretary--he's pretty accessible.

It's certainly a polite way of going about it, but from my experience last year he will just cc a reply to the right person to answer your question anyway if you e-mail him directly. If you don't have his e-mail already just send it to admissions, he'll be right on top of it.hipstermafia wrote:Totally agree, he's awesome, but i would still go through main admissions email/phone unless i had previously talked to him about whatever it is i was emailing/calling about (in which case i'd probably go straight to him)DuxBellorum wrote:He actually answered the office phone yesterday rather than a secretary--he's pretty accessible.

No worries, I was the douche in a full suit. I thought the whole program was great. Definitely enjoyed the bar and it fit perfectly with the first question I asked my student panel, "How often to do you guys have time to get wasted and have a fun night out?" I was surprised at how candid they were with their experiences.Bildungsroman wrote:(I was the clown in a tshirt and jeans)
