Re: U. of Pacific 2011 Applicants
I had decent options this year but nothing that would justify a high amount of debt. I'll most likely retake and reapply next cycle and apply wider and earlier. How about yourself man?

Not sure yet. Already took the LSAT several times, so will not take that damn test again. I am on USD's waitlist, so I will be waiting that out because they r by far my #1 choice. I have to decide by tomorrow whether to put a deposit on Seattle U or McG. Very tough choice. I am leaning towards SU right now but that might change by tomorrow. Which would u guys pick? I don't mind practicing in Seattle for a couple years.

I live in Seattle but I am going to put down a deposit at McGeorge. The rain makes me nuts sometimes.

My advice would be to look at the finances related to the schools and kind of legal markets you're dealing and whether you'd be happy living in that area for the rest of your life since both schools are regional. In the end I'd say mcgeorge has the larger market given that it's in sacramento which is the capital of the biggest state. Best of luck on what you choose. I got waitlisted at alot schools in the 20-30 rank so I'll wait those out and if nothing pans out I'll just reapply.

I think I met you at Legal Scholars day. Maybe.
But yeah, I'm relatively in the same position as you. Except instead of Seattle, its Santa clara or USF. McGeorge and DePaul gave me 20k per and USF gave me 30k (non renewable), and Santa
Clara only gave me 4.5 per. DePaul and McGeorge deposits are due tommorow and I am still not sure where to deposit.

Think I will be withdrawing from McG tomorrow. Can't stand the thought of living in Sac for several years. Good luck to all attending!

Just got off the phone with Dean Barrett. I successfully negotiated my scholarship a little higher and got the stips removed. I put my deposit in, so see some of you in August!

Yup! It's going to be tough because my SO is in San Diego, but we will try to make it work. Job prospects seem a bit scary from McG. I liked the faculty a lot, but I cannot pick a school just based on that.red_alertz wrote:so deposit at seattle it is? while waiting out usd?risktaker wrote:Think I will be withdrawing from McG tomorrow. Can you say (or PM) how much they increased your scholarship? I recieved $20,000 per year, 1st year books, and a 3.0 stipulation. I would love to see that increase to a $30,000 + no stipulations the next time I apply.

My original one was the Dean's Scholarship - $10K per year (top 1/3 stip) and Honors at Entrance (1L books). Dean Barrett said he'd change it to the Public Interest Scholarship (no stips) and raise it a couple thousand (to whatever the next level up is).

I am so damn fickle! I paid the deposit because I did not want to choose SU before I even visit it. I guess I will know once I go to preview day in May.

Re: U. of Pacific 2011 Applicants
I applied last wednesday and my decision was mailed yesterday. I wonder if such a quick turn around is good or not. I never planned on applying to U of P, but for some reason my brain told me to last week, so I will find out what the deal is soon.

My application went complete to Decision Rendered in just over two weeks. I received my wait-list status via email. Don't know if that helps much...StillHerexxx wrote:I applied last wednesday and my decision was mailed yesterday. I wonder if such a quick turn around is good or not. Yeah, I saw that you received the email. My status checker said my decision was being mailed. So it leads me to believe it isn't a waitlist. Most likely an acceptance or denial. It is extremely late, so it could go either way.

Just got an acceptance email to go along with decision rendered on my status checker, that was quick. Hopefully there is a large scholarship in my acceptance pack.

You were already accepted to Iowa and had doubts about McG....StillHerexxx wrote:Just got an acceptance email to go along with decision rendered on my status checker, that was quick. Hopefully there is a large scholarship in my acceptance pack.
