thanks for this. Keeping my fingers crossed.JJDancer wrote:Based on LSN from last year:gothamm wrote:3.3/162
going to have my application completed late jan.
what are my chances?
2 URMs with around your stats got in.
2 non URMs with your stats got in.
1 URM w. your stats was WL.
I think going complete late Jan will result in a WL.
Out of the nonURMs that were accepted. Both submitted in Oct/Nov.
1 received 66K. The other received no $.

to be fair, this should be in the pepperdine thread, but...
applying late to schools with rolling admissions policies puts you at an extreme disadvantage. numbers that are solid at the beginning of the cycle are not necessarily as competitive near the end.

Re: Loyola LA 2011
This is the truth. However, I think gothamm still has a shot, and waitlist will be the worst case scenario at both loyola and pepperdine.glitter178 wrote:gothamm wrote:I am totally out of contention for pepperdine if i apply in late jan huh?

Decision final as of today. I'm 167/3.64, applied 11/30, complete 12/7, I think.

Congrats! I imagine that's definitely an acceptance, with the only question being how much $$$ they offer you.Juuuulie wrote:Decision final as of today. I'm 167/3.64, applied 11/30, complete 12/7, I think.

In with an 87,000$ scholarship, but I have to stay in the top 30% to keep it which seems ridiculous. Anyone know if the stipulations are negotiable?

This might be a) a dumb question and b) better served in the 'Choosing a law school' forum, but what have you guys heard about the culture at Loyola? Is it a tight student body, or mostly a commuter school like you'd expect?

Anybody signed up for the LLS social networking site? I was admitted about a week ago and just received the link today. Seems like a cool idea.

I signed up earlier today, there were only about 10 members, so there wasn't too much going on. I imagine once more people are accepted/sign up it could be useful.lawskool wrote:Anybody signed up for the LLS social networking site? If anyone here still has fuzzy thoughts about going to law school, you are being sorely mislead. It's a sharktank. You're either a shark or a cute just-out-of-college dumbass minnow. Maximizing the number of dumbass minnows is good for your 1L grades, but is not a great long term strategy for the school.

When did you guys receive the email invite to the social networking site in relation to receiving your acceptance packets? I received my acceptance packet two weeks ago, but have yet to receive an email with a link to the social networking site...JenDarby wrote:I signed up earlier today, there were only about 10 members, so there wasn't too much going on. LOL you need to go have sex, smoke a cigarette, and take a nap. not necessarily in that particular order.

Anyone who wants to debate whether WE (or anything else) is necessary to succeed in law school is welcome to do so on this site, by starting their own thread on the topic and not derailing this one. Hopefully that concludes this thread's trolling and you can all go back to your regular discussion.

How is Loyola for products liability defense, mass torts and civil litigation(umbrella subject of the former two)
In this market I am figuring Civil Lit may be the safest chioce.
