Is there a status checker? Are decisions emailed? Snail mailed?
You didn't read the thread huh? There's a status checker. Decisions are snail mailed.
:O
LSpleaseee we are buddies! What's with the snarkiness lol.
Yeah I saw the posts about a status checker. I guess I should have stated it more as "haven't gotten any communication from them yet so I'm wondering when I get a status checker/go complete" etc.
Applied 11/20, received status checker 11/22, complete 11/30. My status never shanged until today it said decision rendered and letters on the way. I imagine you'll get the status checker email any day now!
Congrats ars probably in order!! I applied 5 days ago but since 2 of those days was the weekend, I assume I'll get a status check by the end of the week.

<3 Sorry I is tired. Loyola is notoriously slooooooow so you should get a status checker but not surprised that you haven't gotten one yet.

BTW, I recently decided to apply next cycle instead of this one so I'm just watching your guys' cycle this time :)
Ah ok. I just want to get all my status checkers so I can start futile daily checking. :P

Best of luck for next cycle. What made you change your mind? Are you re-taking the LSAT?

Thank you! Yeah, I didn't do well in October and decided to give myself more time and take February instead.

Hopefully! I won't find out until the first week in January til I'm home to get my mail. :( My neighbor offered to open my mail for me an let me know, but somehow I would rather wait and open it all myself.

Congrats!!! That makes me a tad anxious since my decision was rendered on 12/21 and I don't live too far from LA, so my letter, that I won't be there to open, will probably arrive shortly.

+1 to the acceptance, 69k

Are both of your scholarships contingent on top 30% grade? That seems like bullcrap.

Are Loyola scholarships contingent on that? I've been anxious knowing that my potential scholarship offer is sitting at home in my mailbox, where it will wait until next year. Such a contingency will make it a lot less appealing though...

I've never been a law student before (obviously), but it really doesn't seem that intimidating to stay in the top 30% of the class. It may require putting in a little more effort, talking to professors one-on-one more often, etc., but these are good things to do anyway.

As any law student will tell you, how well you do on an exams is essentially a crapshoot. Some do it well, some don't, it's not like UG where doing a bunch of work and talking to profs will get you an A. Classes are 100% final, and those finals are graded anonymously.

I'm almost positive that all of Loyola's scholarships are contingent on top 30%. I know a couple of people with these scholarships that are 1Ls there right now so I may have some anecdotal evidence to share at the end of this year.

ok so got my scholly and package today, 87,000 in total. I am an LA native....anyone know if they smudge the 30 percent if you can show higher ranked acceptances and tell them you are seriously considering....because if I would have that gurantee it would be nice.

also, do they put all the scholly people in one section?

From what I've heard the 30% stipulation is set in stone. It only makes sense, considering how many accepted applicants they offer hefty scholarships to. This very point is precisely what turns many Loyola-interested students away from the program.

As mentioned earlier, top 30% is no easy task and it's impossible to predict how you'll fare in law school.

They for sure do not put all of the scholarship people into one section. I know a couple people with scholarships and they are not in the same section.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
