Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Has anyone received scholarship information from BU yet? How soon after your acceptance? I'm really interested in going here, but I'm hoping to make my decision within the next couple of weeks and I have no clue when/if I'll hear about schollys.

Yeah. I got like 90k a few weeks ago. I guess it was maybe 6 weeks after my acceptance?cinephile wrote:Has anyone received scholarship information from BU yet? How soon after your acceptance? Waitlisted.
Numbers in profile, complete 1/19. Despite a lot of other really strong candidates getting WL'ed, I've been having a really good cycle and actually let myself get optimistic. Ah well.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
I am two days of being exactly six weeks since my "complete" date. They ask for 6 weeks before I can request a status check. I know I should just be patient and await my decision, but I've just gotten a flood of decisions from my other schools, and BU is the last school I'm waiting to hear from. Is it bad taste to request a status update two days before the six-week period, or does it really matter? (Has anyone else done that?)

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
(I also realize that I went complete really late compared to everyone else, so I'm not complaining at all - I just want the inevitable news, good or bad, to reach me soon I guess, especially since I've now heard from everywhere else)

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Although I could be wrong, I don't think anyone has gotten a status checker response that wasn't, "Your file is ready for review." And then the rest of the email says something about how "we hope you can see this isn't an automated system and we give everyone individualized attention," which is kinda hilarious because it's all such a copy-and-paste response.philswfc2008 wrote:I am two days of being exactly six weeks since my "complete" date. Anyway, still kinda bitter I'm sure you can but don't expect anything enlightening back.

Got merit offer w/ my acceptance packet, but I was a pretty late accept (a couple of weeks ago). For what it's worth, we have very similar #s and they offered me $60k. Good luck!cinephile wrote:Has anyone received scholarship information from BU yet? How soon after your acceptance? I got mine in my acceptance packet. You have a better LSAT than I do (I have a higher GPA). They gave me 105K.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Thanks for the response - I basicaly figured that would be the response. I guess I'll just keep waiting patientially. I am under no illusions of my odds to get into BU with my stats, but it would be nice to get a definite answer. But as I said, I know plenty of others have waited much longer than I havejwmalone87 wrote:Although I could be wrong, I don't think anyone has gotten a status checker response that wasn't, "Your file is ready for review." No problem, Phils. Good luck.

Unrelated: I adore your 'tar. I literally just spent 5 minutes searching for Toby pics for my own, then came to this thread and saw yours. I have a serious amount of WW love.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
To those who are waitlisted and sent a loci: did you snailmail or e-mail and, if the latter, did you send it to the generic waitlist e-mail or to the dean herself?
Thanks!
Thanks!
