Is it appropriate to add why you feel that YOU would be an asset, or is it better to stick to why Stanford is best for you?

I've read a few excellent LOCIs of either type. Personally, my LOCI as it stands right now is mainly an update on my application and then explaining why SLS is my top choice. I didn't personalize my PS, and only submitted 1 targeted LOR, so I think this would probably be more effective than trying to sell myself some more. I'm hoping my fall grade update and additional LOR will help with the selling myself part of my application, along with my other application materials.

Not really a personal note, but I feel like I should say it. Having to stretch is not as good as not mentioning it, of course.

3.9+ is nice, but if you have other qualities, feel free to outline it. They may be more important anyway.

I hope/think I do have the other qualities they are looking for, unfortunately idk if it's enough to see past the ole GPA. Anyway there are a few things I want to add that weren't apparent in my personal statement so.. here goes nothing.

A page maximum, and apparently a Stanford UG talked to the S pre-law advisor, and they said to single-space LOCIs to SLS, so i'd single-space.

Mine took about three days to get a response. I've heard other people ITT saying it took them a week or even a little bit longer to hear back. If you don't get a confirmation email by Wednesday, I would think about giving them a call.

I think it's going to skip the early applicants who are already skipped so far.

But this fits my theory, they look at the entire pool after 2/1 and do a sweep, anyone left is in good shape.

To be honest I had this fantasy number running through my head the past week where Dean Deal was so impressed with my LOCI that she just picked up the phone right then and called to admit me... That kinda stuff happen to anybody else?

...The delusions of grandeur, I mean, not actually having Dean Deal call to admit you immediately after reading your LOCI.

They are holding non-auto-admits for now and rejecting the ones not qualified. Once they have a view of the whole pool, us median/borderline/maybe applicants may get a second look and some will get in.

If I am guessing right about the strength of this year's crops, it's going to look up soon.
