Feel the exact same way. But keep your chin up. Let's try to stay optimistic. Even if we get the ding, we know we made it this far... which probably means the admissions office was for some reason torn about our apps.

Maybe reapplying next year could provide us a slight bump... potentially all we need to go from reject -> waitlist/accept.

Wishful thinking? Yes. But optimism is better than pessimism!

I'd like to think they were so torn by us that they just cast us aside to handle us at the very end, just in case any spots opened up by admits who'd declined.

It seems they have finished with acceptances. Thus, any delay now is a decision between WL and deny. I of course have no evidence for this other than recent decisions, but this is what seems likely.

I haven't received mine yet, but they say something tot he effect of that they have stopped accepting people and that instead of denying you they decided to take a "different course" with your application.

It also includes a form, according to the office, that you have to send back to indicate you want to stay on the WL. Someone who has actually gotten theirs would be a better source than I.

I should have asked about the waitlist specifically. Their exact words on the phone were "unfortunately we could not offer you a seat in the class." I assume that means rejection.

The lady I spoke to made it very clear that it was a wait list.
