Case Western Reserve University School of Law 2011

Post by AVBucks4239 » Thu Oct 14, 2010 5:53 pm

I turned in my application in early October. Good luck to everyone who applies.

Side note: I checked the status checker page and it has this message in bold at the top: "Your application is now complete, however it will not be assigned for review until our recruitment season ends in late November."

Anybody else have this?

I'm still working on my app. Did you write the why Case essay?

No. I felt like I covered it pretty well in my personal statement.

Also in "Committee Reveiw" since 10/6. I would have thought the spelling mistake would have been corrected since it was noticed last year. No matter, I expect a nice rejection.

Would anybody like to PM me a "Why Case" essay? I didn't write it in the first place because I was unfamiliar with the format but now I'm thinking it would benefit my application.

Thanks in advance.

Status Checker updated to "Committee Review" (spelled correctly) from the misspelled one and the status date changed to today. They must be celebrating the release of the impending October scores expected later today. Exciting times.

I don't know why I keep checking my status. They probably won't look at any applications until December.

I applied to Case and my app will finally go into completion with the October LSAT score out of the way. I am AA with a 157/3.1. I wrote a Why Case essay which focused on my interest in health law and my desire to work within the Cleveland healthcare network (think University Hospitals..etc). I know a law professor at the school who instructed me to be sure to include a desire to live/work in the Cleveland area because most people actually hate Cleveland lol.

Suburbs are great, Cleveland itself... eh.

Other than the depressed economy, crumbling infrastructure and inclement weather, it's paradise.

Cleveland native here. Not going to make any excuses for the weather, but it's hardly unique in that regard.

Cleveland's economy is weird. Not as bad as some of the other rust belt cities, but it certainly hasn't 'turned the corner'. I think it could improve considerably over the next 2-4 years, depending on what trouble the new state/local governments get into.

In review and hoping to hear soon! Hopefully it'll be good news as I am a big fan of their health laws program!

Does anyone have the URL for the status checker? The one I have doesn't work, and there is no link on their website.

Did anyone else that is complete submit evaluations? They said they're waiting on 2 evaluations from me when I never assigned them from LSAC (because I don't have any?). It says the requirement is zero... I'm confused. :(

I submitted two since they only allowed one LOR.

I did not submit any and I'm in "Committee Reveiw".

Anyone know when those of us in "committee review" should hear anything? When was their first round of decisions last year? End of December?

According to LSN and the Case thread from last year the likely start of their process is in late December. When I was briefly in "Application Complete" it said that they would start looking at applications at the end of November after their recruitment season. I'm not sure what to make of the quick change to Committee Review/Committee Reveiw. My status has changed three times with various spelling changes.

One member here mentioned that he (or she) was accepted to Case last year way before the official start of their review process so I suppose it could happen at any time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
