Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I emailed admissions about a time-line on scholarship notification and they said,
"Because you were just admitted your scholarship information will not be out for a few weeks. Scholarships are sent via email."
... I suppose I already knew that.

Maybe you should have listened to TLS when they told you not to email...kk19131 wrote:I emailed admissions about a time-line on scholarship notification and they said,

I will definitely say that UIUC >>>> WUSTL for admissions freebies. I got a t-shirt and a blanket from UIUC, as well as that sweet little flash drive.Arbiter213 wrote:The UIUC one is also 4 times the size and covered in an aluminium shell. That alone made me give them and their scholly some thought. Not enough thought to make WUSTL not trump them easily, but some.Hannibal wrote:But dude. The UIUC box.Bildungsroman wrote:I like it more than the UIUC one because it actually has place to attach a lanyard ot keychain.NorCalBruin wrote:Love the flash drive... nice touch...

There is quite a bit of discussion on pages 7 and 8 of this thread:kk19131 wrote:What's up with the crazy grading system?

Also, I'm not sure why our grading system causes some much discussion. It certainly isn't "crazy," and it really isn't all that different than what you've used your entire life. It is just a numbers scale, pretty much 70-100. Instead of curving to a B+, we curve to ~87. Instead of an A- or A being a good grade, 90+ (basically) serves as that benchmark. We just use numbers, nothing wild about it at all. In fact, I think most students greatly prefer our system. Rather than have 30 students "tied" with an A-, we get to be distinguished. The best A- gets a 92 and the worst gets a 90 or 89.

It's not like any harm came of it.

It's fine. I e-mailed Denver the day after I got accepted asking abotu scholly info. I did it in a tasteful way, and they came back at me w/ a nice scholly. I wrote something to the effect of "When can i expect to receive information about scholarships yada yada so I didn't sound entitledkk19131 wrote:chrisbru wrote:Maybe you should have listened to TLS when they told you not to email...kk19131 wrote:I emailed admissions about a time-line on scholarship notification and they said,

That's exactly what I did... I just asked for clarification and information.

Didn't mean to insinuate that any harm WOULD come of it... Just that it was unlikely you were going to get any more information than you already knew.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
ditto. splitters who just got accepted, the 60k awards are in.
what is the overall bill still?
45k tuition-20k scholly= 20k a year times 3=60k+another 10K to account for increased tuition over the next three years=70K
plus cost of living which is prolly 50k.
So 120K minus whatever money we have coming in plus however much we earn during. This seem accurate?

and somehow the 120 sounds so much sweeter than 135. Guess at 120 it is possible to get under 100k when its all over. Dammit.fatduck wrote:you messed up your math a little, it would be 135k.seriously???? wrote:ditto. splitters who just got accepted, the 60k awards are in.

Just wondering who would match $$ from WUSTL. Do you think BU/Minnesota/Notre Dame would?
