Re: Wake 2011
The suspense of waiting on a scholarship from Wake and waiting for the UNC Admissions office to get their shit together is killing me. This April 1st redistribution of the wealth can not come quick enough at Wake.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Just dropped my deposit in the mail. That'll buy me a few more weeks until Carolina makes up their mind.

I think some of us thread regulars should get together right before school and pour a forty on the curb for our thread friends who don't make it. Or a moment of silence.

IIRC, about 15 weeks. A little more I think... We set off in early april, got to the top of NJ at the very end of July. It was fun once, but I was 17, and in much better shape. I don't think i'd even try it again!Stonewall wrote:that's a really long distance. How long did it take to do that?girlonfire wrote:I hiked the AT from Maine to NJ. Good luck!! Other than that, looks like there is going to be some good down time waiting to go to Wake. What to do?

pfft.. when I got back, I was in the best shape ever... and i had gotten used to eating tiny meals all day long so i had inadvertantly developed a bunch of really good habits (quit smoking, also).. but then I developed a liking for beer and sitting on my ass (college years)Stonewall wrote:^ yeh you must have been in as good of shape as your tar afterwards

Re: Wake 2011
When is the second deposit due? Waiting on UNC is killing me. I want to stay in the south but WF hasn't gotten back to me on scholly negotiation. I'd be paying 30k more for WF than UIUC.
And is anyone putting down 3 seat deposits? Kind of excessive huh...

Re: Wake 2011
After careful consideration, I may have been hasty in my revision. The forty may very well need to be poured on the curb. Generally speaking, nothing worth pouring in your mouth comes in a forty. So maybe we drink Yeungling or something of that ilk whilst pouring the malt liqour out...?jdemmitt wrote:Curb isn't slang for mouth? My feeling as well. I'll probably be subbing the forty out for a Sam Adams or something.AfroThunder1212 wrote:After careful consideration, I may have been hasty in my revision. I would classify $10 open bars as a gift from heaven, but hey more Heineken for less, thats not too bad either.

Sounds like we got solutions. Good work team. Anyone willing to bet none of us are sectioned together? Whoever monitors this board for wake probably thinks us trouble makers.

Thanks jetergrl! Its just so rare to see one of those, I hold out a little more hope for cheap open bars. I really hope the social chair of the SBA can set up a cheap open bar for bar review.
BTW awsome name.
