Submitted App: 22 December 2010
Received: 23 December 2010
UR: 7 January 2011
JR1 Email: 13 January 2011
JR1: Tomorrow Morning (ah!)

Stats
UG: Case Western Reserve University
LSAT: 171 (No retakes)
GPA: 4.0 (same as the LSAC version, includes updated Fall Transcript)

You got a whole week to prepare for your interview? I had about two hours--they emailed at 1 (I read it when I got out of class at 2) and interviewed me at 4.

How long does it usually take to hear back after JR1?

I heard back the week after but I think it varies from person to person

There were definitely JR2s on January 10.

So, all the while we were all trying to figure out if any JR1s were going out last week, it turns out they were but no one posted. This is not the first time this has happened. This makes me think this board is really unrepresentative and that a lot goes on even on days the board is silent. Maybe everything has been going out all the time, JR1s, JR2s, denies, holds.
That's true. And with the TLS culture being what it is, I would not be surprised if a lot of the people left (ie. me) are on the lower end of the stats for Harvard, so its going to take a lot longer for us to hear anything. Meanwhile, all of the great numbers people who just applied recently (as opposed to Sept-early Nov) are going to hear back sooner, but they don't post on this board as much.

this is sorta odd: just realized that my status checker says i've been under review since 1/3/2011 when my 2nd LSAT score wasnt even released until 1/6/2011. i have a 3.98 at an ivy so my second score (172) gives me a reasonable chance, but my first from october (<170, illness), which was all they had on 1/3, would probably earn me an immed ding.

is it common for HLS to put apps under review before a second score comes in?? i hope they consider it...

JR1 Interview Questions I got today:

Why Law School?
What would you do with a JD?
Why Harvard?

Lasted slightly more than 5 minutes and I'm probably going to interview hell for talking so fast.

You and I have almost the same stats.

Submitted: 20 December 2010
Received: 21 December 2010
UR: 7 January 2011
JR1 Email : 13 Jan 2011
JR1: 2 hours ago.

GPA: 3.97
LSAT: 172
Questions were why Harvard, why law school and what comes after JD.

Personally, I felt like I may have bombed the interview, which must have lasted under 5min. I was very nervous and my responses were pretty incoherent. Only after the chat did I find the words I wanted to convey. They should send a fake JR1 10min before the real thing.

If the interviews are used to screen out crazy and/or pompous people, I think I'm fine. If they were handing out points for being articulate and thoughtful, I deserve an auto-ding.

Many people feel the same; I wouldn't worry about it.

Try not to worry too much about the interview. Mine lasted 4:55 and I sounded like a silly child, and then I got admitted. I think in a lot of cases JR has his mind pretty well made up before he calls.

So people, I applied 11/04, UR 11/17, and increased my LSAT by 6 points from October to December to 75th percentile.

My current assumption was my file got pushed back because of the retake and they are only now reviewing it. But now that I think about it, I realized people that also took December exam got held, is it positive or negative that I am not held in my situation at this point in time? Waddya think?

Went from 12/03 Received to 01/19 UR, is it normal to skip Complete? It should have been late December but they never bothered updating it until today.

Dood read the thread a bit. Yes it is completely normal to skip complete, in fact, I think it is the norm.

Join the club dude. UR 1/12, no JR1, no hold. Honestly, I have no idea if this is good or bad. Probably better than being held though.

Just had my JR1 about a half hour ago. It lasted just under 3 minutes, and I probably sounded like a yodeling idiot. Stats are below.

LSAT: 169, 177
GPA: 4.0 (not updated with Fall grades, but it's still a 4.0 either way.)

Submitted: 11/1/2010
Received: 11/2/2010
Complete: 11/18/2010
Held: 1/10/11
JR1 Email: 1/13/11
JR1: 1/19/11

I'm a bit confused about being held and then receiving a JR1 e-mail three days later, but whatever. Here's to hoping that JR looks past my rapid-fire and possibly incoherent responses and calls me again.

Do you have any questions or concerns?

For the last question, I said I was concerned about the cold weather. Then I said something like "but in terms of more serious concerns..", and JR cut me off and assured me that concern about cold weather was a serious concern, but that I would learn to have some fun in the snow. Which was good because I hadn't figured out what my more serious concern was. :D

for everyone who has or is going to have a jr1 soon, mine legitimately lasted under 4 min (around 3:40, i believe) and i talked incredibly fast and was pretty sure i wasn't making sense - but it all worked out in the end. so don't psych yourself out too much.

just had my JD1 today

I think I kicked the "any questions for me" part of the interview but I think I had a good answer for why Law and Why Harvard so...we'll see.

So since yday pretty much was full with JR1 interviews for lucky people, who thinks that another batch of JR1 e-mails might go out today?

I went UR in the middle of Nov., still haven't heard anything at all. Super reach, so I'm likely to be rejected (absent divine providence), but I kinda just want to hear back already!

So I submitted my app mid December, went UR 1/11 and received an email today from HLS saying that as of today my application was complete. Huh? OK HLS.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
