I'd go with however they address themselves (like in email, LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center) the first time, and then I think you can go with LSU Law after that.

Got off work today and found the scholarship email in my inbox. Very pleased. I'm 90% sure that I'll be attending LSU now. Will make up my mind for sure after ASD. Good luck to everyone else waiting!

In @ Loyno with no scholarship offers so unless that changes LSU will be an easy choice come April 1st.

Just informing you that you'll get one, or what the amount is? I got an email too, but I haven't heard yet how much it will be.

Just that I'll get one and that the details will come via snail mail. The amount doesn't really matter though. Even if it's just 5k a year it makes LSU extremely cheap for me.

Even OOS I think it's fairly cheap, but the scholarship will be more of a consideration for me as one. :)

This question may have already been answered. My eyes are starting to cross from all the school posts.

Does LSU have a status checker? Received an email with the PAWS information but didn't see where one could check the status.

You'll get the status checker a couple days after the PAWS information. It confused me at first, too. :)

There is an option to check your status. You should have gotten an email with your login information though.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'll just keep watching the inbox.

Got to love Loyola NOLA--only thing they care about is the LSAT and they're still the worst law school in Louisiana.

Nope. That would be Southern.

Southern is held in high regard throughout the legal community in Louisiana. It's a very fine law school.

Loyola on the other hand is a joke.

Does anyone else think that the massive budget cuts to higher education in Louisiana will impact scholarships? I noticed on LSN that a majority of people got at least a small scholarship last year, but I'm wondering if the issues with the budget will change things this year?

I'm pretty sure it will drastically impact just about all college tuition and the amount of scholarships they are able to give out.

--LinkRemoved-- (Bottom of page)
In his summary of budget cuts for the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, Chancellor Jack Weiss wrote to LSU System President John Lombardi: "These reductions will have an adverse impact on a variety of outreach and reputational initiatives," with the possible long-term effect of eliminating the master of laws program for graduate work beyond a juris doctorate.
Oh yeah... I almost forgot:
Full scholarships awarded to members of the Law Review Board are being reduced; Weiss and other top administrators are taking furloughs; and five employees will be laid off.
This article excerpt is a bit old, but LSU experienced more budget cuts in 2010. I think it's safe to say that things haven't exactly turned around just yet.

Thanks for posting that. I've heard a lot about the budget cuts but didn't know how they would impact the law school specifically. Now I know. Kind of depressing, huh?

Scholarship letter arrived today. $2000 a year. No stipulations. Makes a good deal even better.

If you got in with numbers similar to mine and OOS, why the heck am I still in review? Congrats though!

Edit: I checked my status checker right after this. Decision rendered, check email. No email.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
