judging by the 20 new pages within the last 24 hours, I'd guess that others started getting the purple envelopes!

I just got mine today (in SE Michigan)! It's ummm purple...!!!!! I don't think I have ever been looking forward to something purple before

It seems like we've already figured out the trends, but FWIW mine is postmarked 12/8 and I had a decision letter "sent" on 12/3

Haha yeah. Whenever my girlfriend and I go for brunch on the weekend at around noon, we're usually the first people there (esp. at places like the lovin' cup, enid's, etc.)

Sounds about right. I just hope my mailman doesn't share my neighbors' ironic apathy and gets a move on.

I'm in SoCal and leaving on Sunday for 3 weeks of vacation. If I don't get my letter by Saturday... do you think I can call the admissions office next week and beg them to let me know what my decision is?

I'm one of the few splitters with the "Decision Letter Sent" status right now, 174/3.4, RD. So it's not all high GPA decisions sent right now.
Yes, please do call, and also ask them if they've sent out any waitlists/rejections yet.... for the rest of us :|
Just called and they have not sent out rejections or waitlisted people yet.

wait...so does this mean that everyone who has decision letter sent status but hasnt yet received their letter can now rest assured that they are awaiting an acceptance letter?

NYU 1L here. Good luck to you all, I love it here @ NYU (finals notwithstanding). If anyone has questions feel free to PM me. I spend way too much time on TLS, so I might as well make myself useful while I'm here.

Right nearby. I live right up against the BQE.
Sounds like we need to have a North Brooklyn celebration. I'm in Greenpoint too (best neighborhood ever!)

I think we all came to the conclusions last week that it was all acceptances because it is too early for NYU to be rejecting people.

Is georgetown your #1?

Ya, I don't think I had a shot at HYS (we have almost the same #s), but it looks like I(/we) didn't have to ED, necessarily. A number of folks with our #s are in RD (assuming all the letters that have gone out are acceptances).

I'm happy to be going to NYU, but wish I hadn't ED'd if I hadn't needed to.

I used to live by the Lorimer L and always thought it was hilarious that brunch at Taco Chula (best w'burg brunch IMHO) was from 12 to 5. Jeez. Of course, my friends and I didn't usually make it there until 2, so the late hours were a good thing.

Number 1 if I don't get NYU :? I'd be really happy to go to Gtown, but NYU has been my obsession since like sophomore year so if I get dinged, I will be (a little) heartbroken.

:(

Was looking through the NYU 2010 thread...

A lot of the people that had early completion/UR dates that didn't get purple envelopes in the first wave (borderline people, splitters, retakers)...didn't hear back with acceptances or WLs until April.

They like do a pass through over everyone that submits in Dec, Jan, Feb before they got back to those like us.

REALLY REALLY hope this year is different.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
