also held. fuq'n suit and tie wearin' muthafukkaz.
perhaps they saw my pastel single-track bicycle and my slip-ons made from 100% post-consumer materials (tire-tread soles) and quickly realized that i'd probably choose Washington Square over them anyway.
no but in all seriousness you guys i'm sure that they are waiting to see how many of their initial RD admits withdraw and choose H/Y/S so they can keep their yield & numbers high.

I see you are new to TLS.somewhere wrote:It only seems strange if you assume it's pretty much all about numbers. I don't know if it's appropriate... it says transcripts, but doesn't leave it open to something like "other things for the committee to consider" or anything... ugh. I probably will.thecilent wrote:So is anyone sending in LOCIs?

If this is true, why admit 4.2s? (No offense to y'all, mega congrats)forward wrote:This, along with our pool's slightly less impressive numbers relative to the past cycles. Since it's been going for hours, it indicates to me that there are a couple thousand of these going out. What do you wager? Maybe 2/3 of all who've applied? Ha.
That's what I am wildly speculating.

It seems like a majority of us were held. Maybe the others should start a "I wasn't held at Columbia" thread.Weirdlog wrote:Might be time for a Held at Columbia thread?

So has anyone gotten one recently? Are they still heading out? What does this mean for those without one?

Maybe they reviewed applications and made decisions BEFORE they realized how crappy this pool (ahem, present company excluded) is.arism87 wrote:

What, are they going to turn around a re-review the 3000 applications they already went through?
This looks like a panic move.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Confused here too... Held with a 4.3 (average) or 4.5 (taking just the highest--which I was under the impression they did for a 7 point increase).dulcatis wrote:SRSLY. (for spreadsheet purposes--176, 3.66, submitted 10/10, complete 10/19)
