forgot to mention that you can now finally buy parking permits off the uf parking website if you plan on driving to school! (bought mine now because I always forgot in college and got parking tickets for the first few days of school)

And in another sign that we're getting closer to starting, if you happen to get into Section 2 on Friday, looks like the PR class already has the First Day Assignment up. I'm sure more will follow.

Few questions for upperclassmen/people who live in Gainesville!
So in response to a previous message, suits are required for ILSP? How do girls generally dress during orientation? Just want to know how many formal items of clothing I need to buy.
How much do 1L books cost, and where do you guys recommend buying them?
Also, this is kind of a trivial question I guess, but are there any cool coffee places around Gainesville-- i.e. not Starbucks? I like rotating where I study and want to find some good spots before school starts.
And lastly, are there any good music venues? I love live music!
Thanks!

Oh yea, the piano bar's a great time and their covers are very good and often hilarious... only thing is you're only getting a piano and drums there. Lillian's brings in a rotation of Gainesville's better-known bands every night of the week, and I've never been disappointed by any of them.Barbie wrote:

Lillian's is a great bar! The best band, who also played at my wedding, Wiser Than Fools (WTF), is playing there Sept 30 and Oct 1st. They are a great time!

I just tried to do this but it says that student parking passes aren't available yet. Is this just me?ns77770 wrote:forgot to mention that you can now finally buy parking permits off the uf parking website if you plan on driving to school! Edit: Nevermind for some reason it just started working.

For coffee I like Volta, The Bull, and Maude's Classic Cafe. I am not so sure how good of a study spot they are, but they do have great people watching especially at Maude's.saltoftheearth12 wrote:

I'll second Maude's. And although Tropical Smoothie is not a coffee shop, it's a good place to study since they have free wifi and are open 24 hours.Felix2009 wrote:For coffee I like Volta, The Bull, and Maude's Classic Cafe. See, I've never understood that. I go in Tropical Smoothie at night and it just seems crazy loud with the blenders running. That doesn't distract you?

nah. It's like the vuvuzelas at the world cup. Eventually, you become used to the sound. Also, once it hits around 11, they aren't making that many smoothies.Moose Thompson wrote:LSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote: I'll second Maude's. Time for law school to start? I handed a thumb drive to the clerk at Office Depot so she could print some files for me. (my printer was out). My biggest interest was 'what type of bailment relationship have I established'.

It's a bailment for mutual benefit. You will likely never need to know that.RudyBaylor wrote:Time for law school to start?
