Berkeley Faculty Review Support Group 2010
For all of the anxiety, shame, heartbreak, excitement, sadness, or happiness that may come from FR. Here we can discuss it..
I will start this thread off because I have a question, has anyone done any research on getting any money/matching offers after getting accepted off FR?
T MINUS ITS TOMORROW, ALL PANIC

Great idea for a thread... haven't done any research on matching. But counting down the days... If I remember right, t-minus 17? Anybody send in a LOCI?

You reminded me about needing a countdown! Also, I did not send in a LOCI because I figured that was best for waitlist and I put Berkeley in my PSNeelio wrote:Great idea for a thread... haven't done any research on matching. Ahh. This thread will be home sweet home for the next two weeks. Thanks 0L.
Should we take bets on what day decisions will start to roll out? Based on last year's thread, it looks like they were quoted 2/20/09 in the letter and all decisions - admit/WL/rejects - seemed to come out on Thurs 2/19/09. So are we looking at hearing something around Thurs 2/18 this year?
Edit: Here's the link to last year's FR thread. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =7&t=55691

Ahhh, home.
I did not write a LOCI because I had nothing to add that was not redundant or sound too close to begging.

this thread is the definition of "what i don't need more of in my life" (obsessing about law school instead of eating/sleeping/doing my job).
LOVE IT.
And I sent a LOCI, even though I had Berkeley in my PS. It was a pretty dramatic love letter... let's hope they feel flattered.

Re: Berkeley Faculty Review Support Group 2010
Regarding matching scholarships... I've read from last year's threads that you can later send them ONE scholarship offer from a T14 (except NU and maybe another school). They would only match up until the point where the cost of attending Berkeley would be equal. However, Berkeley only matches scholarships for a select few.
I read on their website that if you haven't been claimed as a dependent by your parents on their last five tax returns, the school does not consider their income/assets. That's good news.

This is where I belong. Sending an LOCI. Any thoughts on sending an additional recommendation, even though they didn't ask for it?

Re: Berkeley Faculty Review Support Group 2010
I sent a LOCI and had another rec lined up, but decided against it. I don't want to come off as annoying and add to their already dense reading load. That being said, if it's a targeted letter of rec, it might be something to consider.gmichaelbluth wrote:This is where I belong. Sending an LOCI. Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
