Maybe they're trying to have Cher give us the acceptance call.

Got the acceptance call today too, but I'm kind of bummed now that I see others were offered scholarships... I went complete 1/25, so I was hoping that hearing back this quickly meant $$ was coming with the info he said I'd be receiving. Are scholarship offers always mentioned in the acceptance call?

UCLA negotiates pretty fast. If you have offers from any t-14 schools or maybe a big one from USC, show them. They should respond.USCbusinessgrad wrote:Got the acceptance call today too, but I'm kind of bummed now that I see others were offered scholarships... Based on posts throughout the thread, no, scholarship offers are not always mentioned in the acceptance call

Common sense would dictate yes. They wouldn't call you AND tell you to call them back just to say lolno.Cali_App_333 wrote:Got a voicemail, calling back in the AM. Does this mean I'm in????

That was the scenario leading up to my acceptance, so I would celebrate w/ restraint if I were you, haha. When I heard the voicemail I thought "Seriously... you can't just tell me over vmail? Torture!!"Cali_App_333 wrote:Got a voicemail, calling back in the AM. Does this mean I'm in????

He also left a message for me asking to call back. He likes to actually tell the person over the phone. Kind of cool I think.

I think I'm the only person who didn't like the phone call. Phone calls with authority figures make me incredibly nervous. Why would you put an already admitted student through the emotional wringer of having to suddenly and unexpectedly speak to the dean of admissions!? It felt like another test for me.

I submitted my application around the same time as everyone else (1/14) with a letter of interest and I haven't heard yet! Starting to freak out a bit...

What, no, there are people on this page that just said they submitted in December. There are still those of us who went complete before hurricane Sandy. Chill. Your. When did you go complete Sunny? I'm thinking if they have kept you in it this long then that's a potentially good sign considering all the previous bloodbaths.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:What, no, there are people on this page that just said they submitted in December. Yeah, I'm thinking that, too. At this point, they are either on edge between a WL and an admit or I'm in the pile of apps that they wait to read last. I went complete around Halloween.BigZuck wrote:When did you go complete Sunny? Just withdrew (was admitted back in November).
I hope this opens up a spot for somebody else! Good luck to those still waiting on a decision!

Got in to USC and UCLA. UCLA is one of my top choices but the cash is important also. Only got 48K in scholly from UCLA. USC gave me 120K> I am going to LA next week to see my sis sing at the Hotel Cafe and tour both schools. I have an appointment to discuss my Schollies then with both schools. I will let you all know what happens....some people say UCLA is all BS on wanting to be competitive.....we will see.USCbusinessgrad wrote:Got the acceptance call today too, but I'm kind of bummed now that I see others were offered scholarships... USC is throwing around a ton of $$ this year. I think UCLA is struggling to keep up.uconjak wrote:Got in to USC and UCLA. UCLA is one of my top choices but the cash is important also.
