Preferred WL. Do we know how large the pools of WLs are? Aka the likelihood of being admitted for someone on each WL?

Checking in. Regular WL for PT. I'm local so I'll be waiting all the way until the end....

Is anyone visiting the school/do you think it would help us get off the WL?

Anybody know the first seat deposit deadline for G'Town? I tried looking, but couldn't find it via Safari on my phone.

Someone PM'd me. First and second seat deposits are May 1st and June 1st, respectively.

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
When it comes time to look back at WLed candidates do they re-review their files? Is it too late to send them my Fall 2013 transcript and it have any effect?
So it's safe to assume there will be waves of acceptances off the waitlists in May and June, right?KanyeShrug wrote:Someone PM'd me. First and second seat deposits are May 1st and June 1st, respectively.

Yes. I was at the tour/info session last week and they basically said as much. Most of the action will occur right around those dates. Some right before, more right after.szbray wrote:When it comes time to look back at WLed candidates do they re-review their files? Does anyone have info on how many people generally get off the WL?

Found this (slash someone linked it for me) in another thread, if people are interested in some data.

Well, it's something you can discuss in an LOCI.kimkardashian wrote:Do you think campus visits make them look more favorably upon waitlisted candidates? I'm visiting this weekend but there's no tour available so I'll have to just walk around and tour the school myself.

is it a huge red flag to not send in a LOCI?

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
I got the impression that a LOCI was required:
"We realize that your circumstances may change in the coming months. An e-mail will be sent to you in May, if not earlier, asking you to reconfirm your interest and update your contact information." (from the waitlist email)

PWL yesterday. I applied ED (which is void now), as well as to both the full and part time programs. In the waitlist email, it does not mention which waitlist I am on...if it is PT waitlist, would it have specified that? Also, because it says they will email us in May about our continued interest, does that mean they do not want us sending a LOCI before then?

I'll be withdrawing on Monday. I'm happy with my other offers and I will not be scrambling over the summer to attend GULC at full price. Good luck everyone

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
I have a random question; if all things are equal between two applicants on the waitlist, do you think that an applicant that applied in November 1 has an advantage over someone that applied March 1?
On one hand the committee has probably looked at the November applicant's file a bit more, but on the other hand the March applicant might be fresher in their minds...

" The Committee on Admissions has reviewed your application and has placed your name in a special group within our Preferred Waiting List."
... is there a regular wait list, a preferred wait list, then some sort of group within that? or does everyone's email say this?

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2014
oh damn I just noticed that I had movement on 3/13, after being priority waitlisted (after being held) around 2/24. I didn't send in my LOCI until last week, though.j-select wrote:i just had an update on 4/4 for the first time since being placed on the regular waitlist on 2/21. anyone else see any movement recently?

This may be a stupid question, but can you still get rejected after being waitlisted? Or do they just keep you on the waitlist until registration day, and then reject you?

Wonderful, so I'm still effectively on the chopping block...j-select wrote:yes, some are rejected after being put on wl. i think a good number of those who are placed on the wl are just left there until the first day of classes, but some are culled through the spring and summer.nightshade wrote:This may be a stupid question, but can you still get rejected after being waitlisted? Preferred WL way back when, but sans an interview of any kind. Anybody know how they go about this, in terms of offering interviews later?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
