Re: NYU 2010
All right, sorry if this was asked above by another worried applicant, but at what point other than receiving a notification from NYU can I logically assume I am waitlisted or rejected? 168/3.94 PR, applied in mid October. In UG, but above-average softs and DS material.
This might be out of the ballpark, but do you think being in the immediate vicinity of NYU/CLS would hurt my chances somewhat (because they want to achieve geographic diversity)?

18.
What is the hidden assumption in this argument?
A) USNWR rankings are the only way that people evaluate law schools.
B) Geographical diversity is defined by being in a 50-mile radius of the school.
C) NYU /CLS are only interested in factors that are demonstrated to have an impact on the USNWR rankings.
D) Law schools never care about factors that don't have an impact on the USNWR rankings.
E) USNWR rankings are unlikely to be affected a school's geographical diversity at any time in the future.
The answer is C.

I'm really sorry if someone already asked this, but does NYU send a status checker? I got an email a few days after I applied on 1/5 saying they'd received my app, but I haven't gotten a complete email or a status checker. Is that normal?

Has anyone who did not receive a complete email get admitted to NYU yet?

Eh, I think that NYU would be impressed that you got their question right.blue5385 wrote:depends on your GPA, & whether or not your new LSAT bumps you above their medianJericwithers wrote:Since I got this right does it bump up my LSAT by 1 point and grant me admission??

Wow, they have a high median. Give me another question so I can at least match it.blue5385 wrote:depends on your GPA, & whether or not your new LSAT bumps you above their medianJericwithers wrote:Since I got this right does it bump up my LSAT by 1 point and grant me admission??

19.
What is the reasoning flaw in the conclusion drawn by blue3585?
A) He fails to adequately define the terms "evidence" and "rankings."
B) He confuses the situation that there is no proof that an assertion is true with the situation that there is proof that the assertion is false.
C) He confuses a hypothesis with a fact supported by evidence.
D) He assumes that law school admissions operate according to a system that is easily comprehensible to the average mortal.
E) He assumes that NYU and CLS are not distinguishable from any other law school in their admissions practices.
The answer is B.

Re: NYU 2010
Hrm, I would have thought there's a better answer than B. Thanks though, your question put me at the LSAT median now! I will put that in my LOCI tomorrow.managamy wrote:Analytical Reasoning:blue5385 wrote:
