All right, sorry if this was asked above by another worried applicant, but at what point other than receiving a notification from NYU can I logically assume I am waitlisted or rejected? 168/3.94 PR, applied in mid October. In UG, but above-average softs and DS material.
This might be out of the ballpark, but do you think being in the immediate vicinity of NYU/CLS would hurt my chances somewhat (because they want to achieve geographic diversity)?

I got an email from an NYU alum that went to my undergrad.

No. Geographic diversity doesn't have any effect on USNWR rankings.
