Re: USC 2010!
I need to update my mailing address at USC and I was wondering if it would be wrong to add something in the update request...something like "I would also like to express my continued interest in USC, which is my first choice school." Would that look bad? I've been under review since 1/29 and I am desperate!!

Bahahahahahah
I just got WL'd at USC, after getting in at both Cornell and UCLA. Not a Waitlist I plan on riding out

USC notifies you via snail mail, regardless of decision type?

Re: USC 2010!
Snail mailed me my WL. It says in the gloriously shitty looking package that they call WL'd students if they are accepted off the list, which leads me to believe they might do the same for accepted students?fl0w wrote:USC notifies you via snail mail, regardless of decision type?
It's interesting to wonder what human element goes into a decision when someone at or above both 75th percentiles gets WL'd.
Anywho, good luck to you all!

To everyone who is considering writing a preemptive LOCI, I have a potentially helpful nugget of information. If you are already in review, your file cannot be altered. If you are merely complete, they should be able to add it if you don't go into review before it gets there.

Hm.. an additional letter of rec I sent got there after I was put into review and it showed up on my USC status checker page..mctj wrote:To everyone who is considering writing a preemptive LOCI, I have a potentially helpful nugget of information. Re: USC 2010!
That's just what the admissions office told me. It's possible the recieved it, put it on the status checker page to show they received it, and only added it to your official file once it was back "up front", if you will. Or the lady that told me this was misinformed, or it only applies to LOCIs...xokel87 wrote:Hm.. an additional letter of rec I sent got there after I was put into review and it showed up on my USC status checker page..mctj wrote:To everyone who is considering writing a preemptive LOCI, I have a potentially helpful nugget of information. Re: USC 2010!
I've seen the LSN $$$ numbers and it looks ok to me. I guess there are very few huge scholarships, but plenty of people get 60k over three years. That's about what I got from UC Davis, so I'd be thrilled to get it from USC.

Re: USC 2010!
Scholly letter arrived!
I'm international, so they e-mailed me my letter. 15K/year merit, with full scholarship info (including loans) to be available soon. I have to accept the scholarship, which is unconditional, by April 15. You can accept the scholarship without accepting your offer of admission, and there's no penalty for accepting the scholly and opting not to go to USC.
HTH. Good luck to everyone waiting on admissions and scholarships.

How exactly would they penalize you if you accepted the scholarship and didn't go?roundabout wrote:Scholly letter arrived!

Re: USC 2010!
Man I am still waiting for USC's offer but I more than likely will be going to Boston University. I was previously awarded the public interest scholly but today I found out that I was given the MLK Fellowship for all my community work, which is full ride plus a stipend.
I have heard that USC is pretty generous but I doubt they will match it, so if they don't there will be a spot opening for USC, WULS, and UIUC for anyone who is waiting.

Scholarship letter today! Not a finalist for the Rothman, but a generous 66k over 3 years.

Wow, a real live scholarship letter?! Where do you live and what are your numbers, if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!pearl_earrings wrote:Scholarship letter today! Not a finalist for the Rothman, but a generous 66k over 3 years.

Me me me! Nice to have company. Friday is the start of my 22nd week adrift on the endless sea. Food supplies are dwindling; morale is low. Can't go on much longer...Lermontov wrote:Who all else is, still, riding the October complete train?

No idea to either question, but just thought it would be helpful to repeat as much of what's in the letter as possible.ornbarn wrote:and who would NOT accept the scholarship?mctj wrote:How exactly would they penalize you if you accepted the scholarship and didn't go?roundabout wrote:Scholly letter arrived!
