haha yea, top choice, really want to get in..According to last year's thread USC had already started accepting people immediately after the deadline and had sent out an email regarding the status of the waitlist. I guess nothing like that has come yet, so not sure what to make of it.

changed to? You're not wait listed yet right, you're still waiting on a preliminary decision?

Just took a look at LSN and someone who deposited at USC just got off the waitlist elsewhere and bailed which could be one of many. For those of you on the waitlist, first and second week of june will probably see quite a bit of movement.

Why do you say it could be one of many? Where did s/he bail to?

I'm disappointed, too. :P I'm able to attend UCI with 0 COA/actually end up net-positive and given my goals, I can't justify turning down that kind of money at a decent regional. Since we're two of probably 15~ URMs in the SoCal area focused on PI/govt, I'm sure we will meet. ;)

Has anyone been admitted from the waitlist yet?? I'm in the FB page and a bunch of people have gotten off the waitlist elsewhere and have moved on and yet no waitlist movement from USC.

Just got this email

At this point, the number of first deposits for our entering class have exceeded expectations and we do not anticipate extending offers to waiting list candidates in the next 30 days. However, if you remain flexible in your plans and believe you would be able to commit to USC Gould throughout the course of the summer, there remains the possibility of waiting list offers at a later date (perhaps after our 2nd deposit deadline of July 1). This is always a fluid situation as we cannot predict the actions of other law schools as it pertains to their wait list and how that will impact our class.

yeah well that's what most schools are doing but some schools like georgetown and UCLA are already admitting off the waitlist.

I think that USC's decision to keep their class size closer to 150 is a major factor this year. Compared to other schools they have a lot less wiggle room because 10 extra people for them is a huge deal whereas it's not a big deal at GULC or UCLA who have much bigger class sizes.

How many depositers did they have?? over 170?? Quite a few people have already bailed even the ones they offered a full ride according to LSN.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
