Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
In my (screwed up) head, I feel like Columbia is feeling extra pressure to send out their acceptances to keep even with UChicago.
Man, I read into this shit way too much.

i am not trolling though it sounds like one, but they are introducing skype interviews and offer this randomly to a small group of applicants, according to the email.drawstring wrote:whaa???????????NapoleonXV wrote:anyone else gets the interview request ?

Are all K-JDs asked for fall grades? I have not received a request.. wondering if that means anything.

They're offering interviews? Right before RD decisions are typically released? That seems...odd. Do you mind sharing your stats or just estimates (>75th, >median etc).NapoleonXV wrote:anyone else gets the interview request ?
No, I never received a request. I updated mine anyway because I was afraid schools might find it odd if I didn't and because I graduated and wanted my final GPA on record.illyria wrote:Are all K-JDs asked for fall grades? I have not received a request.. wondering if that means anything.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I also got an interview email. Complete late November, above both 75ths. Is this a mandatory thing? I really hope not..

I was never asked for them either. But I did update them the second week of January because my GPA went up a little, so it's possible I just beat them to the punch.illyria wrote:Are all K-JDs asked for fall grades? I have not received a request.. wondering if that means anything.

Also got one. It says it's optional but personally I feel like I have to do it....almondjoy wrote:I also got an interview email. Complete late November, above both 75ths. Is this a mandatory thing? I really hope not..

Maybe they're using interviews to help determine Butlers/Hamiltons?

And, I left my phone at home today, so I'm locked out of my gmail thanks to 2-step verification.
Will now proceed to go insane.

Talk about throwing a wrench in things lol.
Everyone who got the interview request, make sure to update that in the spreadsheet. We may get an idea of what type of applicants they're sending these to.

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
The email says that they're selecting applicants randomly, and this interview is a "trial phase" thing (so won't be used much for final decisions I am guessing) so I really doubt they're going to use it for Butler/hamiltons (I doubt they're going to let some but not all of the applicants they're considering have the interview be a consideration for the schollys). I don't think I'm gonna participate...

Definitely agree with what you have said. I still decide to do the interview, as I do not think it will hurt my chances at cls?djfududeman wrote:The email says that they're selecting applicants randomly, and this interview is a "trial phase" thing (so won't be used much for final decisions I am guessing) so I really doubt they're going to use it for Butler/hamiltons (I doubt they're going to let some but not all of the applicants they're considering have the interview be a consideration for the schollys). How do you guys think these interviews will impact decision times? Can we still hope to hear something at the end of this week/beginning of next week or will they delay it for these interview people.. STRESS!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
