if anyone gets a fletcher scholarship, shoot me a message.

Do we know if they go out by email, phone call or snail mail?

At the open house, I was told they'd try to send out a notification email to everyone when they awarded the Fletchers.

I went to Wake for undergrad, and have a ton of friends from the law school who live/work in the DC area, so I think those jobs are definitely available to Wake Law grads.

I am about to go digging through my "law school pile" in a second but does anyone remember if any of the information mailed to us included the seat deposit information? Most schools send out the information and a form but I don't remember getting that from Wake. TIA.

In the Welcome to Wake Law email that Melanie sent out it says "A deposit of $300 is due by April 15, 2011, to reserve your seat in the Class of 2014."

I need to hear something about a scholly soon. Right now it's between Windsor and Wake Forest for me. Tuition for Windsor because I'm in-province (in state) is only 13K (but no scholly) vs 35K for Wake. This decision will more or less come down to money so I hope I'll find out soon deadline for the deposit for Windsor is April 1st.

I called a couple days ago and they told me the same thing. Disappointing, huh?

Wouldn't help. I don't think they have any shame in making people pay sticker. A good share of their scholarships barely make the mark for truly being a "scholarship" as it is.

What do you mean by that? I think their average scholarship is around $20k a year.

Yeah, most of the scholarships I saw reported were between $15k-$28k per year, which, in my limited experience, is fairly generous.

Yes, it almost completely eliminates Wake as an option. Can't afford sticker simple as that. Now to decide if I should put down a seat deposit on the prayer that when the deadline hits and a ton of money comes back in to play they'll send some my way.

Are people really going to wait until the deadline to withdraw? That seems rude, if you know you aren't going to attend. I am hoping that the last 2 weeks of March will see a stampede of withdrawals as people make their choices (once most schools have sent out scholly info).

Edit: I would love to be able to consider Wake. Alas, this is not possible without scholarship funds.

If you 100% know you won't attend I agree it's not nice, but I'm still goin gto wait to hear somethin about a scholly before I decide to withdraw or not.

+1. Wake is high on my list, but I am still waiting to hear from another school and waiting for schollies at several. This may actually push towards the deadline, but there is a very strong likelihood I will attend Wake, especially if I get rejected / no scholarships. So it's not just people being rude, sometimes it's just people waiting on other decisions.

There's no more $$ available so you have to wait until the deadline passes and those who got money reject the offer (if they are going to reject).

I understand in those instances. I am waiting to withdraw from a few as well to see what other schools may send my way. I just meant that in the next two weeks as schools send out the majority of their decisions and money I hope people withdraw quickly as they make their choices.

Totally agree I hope some more scholarship funds open up for some of y'all waiting.
