Rubenstein coming through in the clutch. My desire to study for this retake just got a $180,000 fire lit under it.AspiringAcademic wrote:Heads up, looks like the Ruby is hanging around:

Woot! That is awesome news. I wasn't thrilled about living in Chicago but that $$$ would be hard to turn down even if I get in to S/H. A guy is allowed to dream right?

What are the criteria for Rubies? Is it mainly LSAT/uGPA? Do they take financial need into account at all?

It's hard to believe that you guys are already applying. I'd like to wish you all the best of luck. I'm a 1L and I'm loving both Chicago the school and Chicago the city so far. I'd be glad to answer any questions about whatever, to the (probably limited
) extent that I can. Just drop me a PM.

I kind of think the Cafaro takes into account your background in general as well. If anyone has specific questions, again, shoot me a message and I'll share my ideas (I'm not on the admissions staff, so they'll obviously be just that, keep in mind).Regulus wrote:Cafaro is based on financial need + merit, whereas Rubies are mainly merit (LSAT/GPA).midwest17 wrote:What are the criteria for Rubies? Checking in -- sent in my application on 9/11, the status changed to "under review" today. Is there any chance I'll get a decision before December?

Was sitting on the fence about applying because I wasn't too happy about not being offered a fee waiver, but a shot at Ruby means I will cop dat $80.

^ I hear you. I got several waivers, but not at Chicago. I applied anyway and UChi ended up being my best choice.
It sucks, but it's worth it.

Lol, I feel that. I would have applied sooner, but I had to wait until I got paid today. X)t-14orbust wrote:I'm jealous lol. I can't even apply until I get my paycheck on the 15th.

This is where having a credit card helps.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Lol, I feel that. I would have applied sooner, but I had to wait until I got paid today. X)t-14orbust wrote:I'm jealous lol. I can't even apply until I get my paycheck on the 15th.
Submitted app today, paid the full $100 fee because no waiver... Now for the rest of the month, I will subsist on ramen.

Lol too bad my credit card is already near its limit. I stick to pb sandwiches, they're actually pretty nutritious if you do it rightheythatslife wrote:This is where having a credit card helps.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Lol, I feel that.
