Count me in.

LST has the schools' Class of 2013 employment stats looking pretty strong for a regional school. Hardly T14, but nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully it's not just a temporary uptick. Also, I think UIUC will continue to climb back up the US News rankings as it recovers from that Dean Pless scandal.

UIUC 1L here to answer questions!

The buzz is that the 2014 job stats will be a bit better than 2013 which is fantastic.

That's great news. I feel UIUC is an underrated school.

Question - when should I start looking at securing an apartment/housing?

I wouldn't worry about that at all until you're accepted and deposited (ie. like around March). If you do come to UIUC you'll basically live at either the Village at Colbert Park or at 75 Armory. There is a huge number of law students at both places, with most 1Ls living at the Village.

Anyone know the new medians. Someone said 161 but I don't think they have it up on the site yet

Just waiting on September LSAT score. Application's complete other than that and will be sent in as soon as scores show up.

They won't be posted on the website until UIUC gets the data verified by LSAC which could be later this month or as late as December. The LSAT median is a 161, that is all that's known. If you have concerns I would recommend emailing dean Ray and asking for the medians.

I'm waiting as well. As far as sholarships go they just released a statement on their website that I suggest everybody read.

That's what I was thinking but it didn't quite make sense.

I guess I could have put a little more effort into that. I was thinking about the section stating "Such steps may include (but should not be limited to) reduction in class size and/or increasing student financial aid."

I believe large scholarships are going to be a long running fixture of the UIUC admissions process, and I wouldn't be surprised if they start reducing tuition altogether.
