Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Speaking of layers...I'm considering wearing socks with chacs on test day. I want to be comfortable, but my feet also get cold... I wonder if those are permitted to be in my ziploc bag lol. No shame in my crunchiness.
Doing some sections from pt 40 until my mind is a bit less foggy and then hitting pt 73.
Eta: I think my mind might be foggy/everywhere from drinking coffee this morning. I've abstained fully since June and mostly stopped back in February. Probably shouldn't have changed it up on a PT day!!

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Just finished PT 75 @ my test room, it felt so promising but ended up being another 173. Two more right and I would have been at a 176 b/c of the scaling, makes the -4 on the second LR hurt just a little more, since everything else I think I did as well as I could reasonably expect.
PT75
LR1: -1
RC: -2
LR2: -4
LG: -0
That last game on 75 nearly killed me too, I didn't catch that when they said there must be three or more features, they didn't mean three distinct features, god that almost got me and I didn't realize until there was only like 4 minutes left haha.
Edit: Gahh, just reviewed when I got home and I think 4 of my 5 misses on LR, I either circled a right answer and then changed my mind, or had narrowed it down to the correct one and the wrong one that I chose. That stings

Just finished PT 73, 171. Even though its the same score as PT 72 I felt a lot more comfortable. -0 on the games and then only -3 on RC. Im going to drill NA and SA for LR this week. If I can pull a 170 out on Saturday Ill be at peace.

Scored my highest PT thus far on my last PT. Feeling good. Taking 70 and 71 this week, then drilling LR untimed, LG/RC timed and relaxing with the GF both the night before and directly after the test.

I knew there was a fee, but $170 seems excessive. Wasn't budgeting for that lol.. plus I think if I want to apply up here in Canada, Ontario schools have their own "CAS" equivalent that they charge for processingRZ5646 wrote:We have to pay another $170 just to have LSAC manage applications?? Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
"CAS" is probably just the name of a computer program that some guy set up years ago and has been running for free ever since, so $170 is a little ridiculous.204Wpg wrote:I knew there was a fee, but $170 seems excessive. Do you guys have any advice about asking for LoRs? I'm going to do that this week.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I think it depends on how well you know the people you're asking. I have four. My academic one, I sent an email asking if he'd be willing to write one, telling him that if he is willing I'll provide any info he needs--samples of class work, transcript, resume, etc. After he agreed, I sent a follow up email with the info he said would be helpful and also wrote a couple paragraphs on why I thought that I excelled in his class, etc. I mentioned that I took grad courses before the intro course for that subject during my freshman year and got a 4.0. I also mentioned a specific project and how I investigated the subject further and how that showed I was dedicated and intellectually stimulated by the subject matter.RZ5646 wrote:Do you guys have any advice about asking for LoRs? For two of them, I stopped by attorney's offices and asked in person. Then I sent emails with relevant info. One I set up a meeting to ask, the other i just stopped by his office and was like "yo, you're writing my letter of rec, right? It better be good."
The fourth person asked if I wanted one and I said sure and then sent her relevant info.
Eta: I also asked for them all by mid-October. I recently sent a follow up to the prof reminding him of the due date and asking if he needed anymore info. I also called one attorney and was like "hey, how do I ask my prof for the letter of rec? Btw, you need to submit that by October 15."

I'm so excited to get all this over with. We obsess over the LSAT and applications and forget that these things are just one step in a process, means to an end.

About to start a PT at Barnes and Noble. Waiting because the table next to me has the Kaplan Premier LSAT book and a fresh printing of PT75 on it. Table's been empty since I came in, and I want to know who...

Did PT 40, kind of. Did it in sections (2 LR, 1 RC today and LG Thursday). LG I missed 5, but also kind of gave up after 20 mins on Thuraday to check the 7sage explanation. Got a 167. I need to drill Misc games for sure. Circle games I'm fine on, but ones like the airplane game kill me every time.
Going to do PT 73 after lunch.

This and obsessing over a previous question that I changed during the rest of the section. Almost every question I get wrong on LR is one I second guessedgamerish wrote:Doubting my answers on LR and then changing them is costing me a ton of points. Blegh

You found another LSAT'er in the wild?! Spectacular! I hope you chatted them up. I've tried in vain to find others in real life who are taking this test, to no avail. I even put out a Craigslist ad. Got some, um, interesting responses...TheProdigal wrote:About to start a PT at Barnes and Noble. Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Yesterday I was on campus anyways, so I decided to take a peek at my test room before going to write a PT there today. I walk in and there's a single girl in this room for 170+ studying, and I say "Hey, don't want this to seem weird, but I'm going to take a picture of this room... not of you, I swear" and she goes "Oh, are you writing the LSAT too?"chalky wrote:I'm the polar opposite, I avoid talking about it at all costs.seashell.economy wrote:You found another LSAT'er in the wild?! I say yes, and in my head I had assumed that she had previously been interrupted by someone else writing who also wanted to come see the room. Wasn't until I got home and told my sister about this encounter that she was like "Don't you think maybe she was writing the LSAT and wanted to study in there??..." Damn, LSAT Logical Reasoning is up, real life logical reasoning wayyyy down.

I think I saw a TLSer in the wild once. She was carrying a PT and a copy of the Economist.
