working 50 hr/wk is rough, add anything else on to your day and study time is hard to fit in :/ this week has been pretty restricted, gotta make up for it this weekend I guess

I feel you. I'm like exhausted after work every day (usually 9-8/9). I've been super lucky and this week and last were really, really slow (spoiler for after law school: July/aug/sept are the slowest months for litigation). Unfortunately it'll be picking up soon. Ugh.

I'm a paralegal at a big firm in DC. My hours really depend on whether or not I have cases going to trial and such. Most attorney's take off a lot of time in the summer, so it's fairly slow. I've only had a few 9-9 days this summer, but once Jan rolls around I'll be here until 1am a few nights a week. I'm reallllyyyyy hoping that doesn't happen sooner than January...Oct/Nov are pretty busy, so it's a toss-up.

What do y'all do? School? Work?

I work in a small law office, dealing mainly with car loans and collecting when people default on them

Hi guys,
I don't know if this has been covered already, but are most of you still planning to apply this cycle? I'm taking the September test, but thinking that there's a decent chance that I will have to retake in December. Is submitting apps in January considered late, and will it substantially lower admissions/scholarship prospects?

You're in a good position, too. I feel gaining work experience is important. I'm definitely glad now that I didn't go the K-JD route. I actually can't imagine going to law school without some real world experience, not to mention everything I've learned at my firm. I'm sure it's simple stuff that we'll all learn in 1L, but it's still nice to feel like I have a bit more than a foundational knowledge.

(I'm not saying the K-JD route is a bad choice, though! It's all in personal preference!)

lmao I'm pretty sure you can say it, but you make a fair argument. And yeah I mean you're more lined up with a job after school (if it is a good law firm you want to work at anyways) For me this is just gaining that knowledge which is def awesome, I'm still pretty new here so I dont know too much yet but I have time. And yeah it should be nice and make 1L a little easier (for at least 1 class I'd hope lol) already knowing how to do some stuff

Yeah, I love my firm. It's like in the 30s on Vault and then higher for specific practice areas, so it's a pretty good firm.

Do you do cite checks? I feel like we'll be totally set for law reviews. haha

I just started making them! I'm going to do this 30 day green smoothie challenge in October and try to drink one a day as a meal replacement. I found this site with these amazing recipes, including pumpkin spice. I'm pretty pumped.

Today's has: almond milk, (not quite ripe enough) mango, banana, blueberries, spinach, almonds, and a little bit of peanut butter.

Good for micronutrients! Make sure to include protein and fats into your daily diet.
I might be the biggest health and fitness buff on here. haha
