cookiedough, that does make me feel better. even with the "preview app" option, i still think the typo-anxiety will be pretty overwhelming. you have anyone who's willing to proof for you?

jerseykid, that does make me feel better! i'm the same way. i think my issue with this is i can't really conceive.. of a "thesis statement" for... myself. i have a new, crappy draft, but i think i'm going to step back and do jot down some thoughts on paper.

"twerking" does make it much more fun if i do say so myself.

Thankfully yes, I have several proofreaders. Still nerve wracking though. Just start writing. It seriously gets better as time goes on. I was overthinking it and finally just starting word vomiting. Many edits later, it's decent.

I will set the next person to announce that scores "could totally come out today because I said so and I want them" on fire. So perhaps a poll letting me know that more than 0 people truly believe this is a bad idea

U Chicago has got some examples of personal statements on their site. Reading them hasn't helped me much but maybe you or someone else on here may find them useful:

I'd be genuinely curious to know how much UG debt, if any, waiters carry.
I second this suggestion. One of the more interesting ones made up until now.

tangent but its interesting that there are that many people itt who have 5-10+ years of WE.

I agree. I was shocked by that! Good on them though. I'm at the solid 1.5 mark right now.

A lot of people count working through undergrad and highschool years as work experience...I doubt many have post 5+ years of undergrad work

i'm curious about this one too. 3/4 of my job is dealing with student loans. i'm interested to see how TLS compares to the current [depressing] general numbers we've been seeing.

and +1 to the being old. i interpreted the poll as meaning FULL TIME work. i was so relieved to see others in the same boat. did i misinterpret? am i still an old crone?! ;_;

I interpreted it as full time work, but I do know people who worked full time in UG to support themselves, so I would assume they should count that.

when i hear WE, i think full time. i guess that could just be me, though.

Completely agree...I was just stating that I've noticed people say full time and include years from highschool through college.
It's still surprising considering the average age of law school is what 23, 24??

Fair. That's how I interpreted the poll as well (mostly because of the K-JD=none option) but who knows what people meant when they voted. For what it's worth I'm in the 5-10 category and I meant 100% post-grad WE.

I'm 26, and I don't have a 5 years post grad work experience. Seewhereimgoing.

What exactly do you want to know? If you're interested in how many waiters have held down full-time, post-graduate employment, then say so with a selected gradient.

Consider yourself lucky. I did that with October and they were much better at this than we are. Several hundred times better in fact.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
