My sentiments exactly haha because while the rest of my fellow pre-law peers are kicking back and relaxing their spring semester, I'll be working my tail off. I honestly think it's a really standard/common soft, so I wouldn't get too hyped. This is coming from someone who wrote an earth-shattering 60 pager solving a timeless problem (well, hardly. but my point stands).savinggrace wrote:Quick question if anyone can answer this for me:

E: Probably worth the effort for the strong LOR, though

HLS specifically asks for written works you have completed, so it would help somewhat there.savinggrace wrote:Quick question if anyone can answer this for me:

No, but feel free to mention any vague ideas you might have about what your thesis will look like.ftbchamp231 wrote:Rough drafts don't count do they?lawschool22 wrote:HLS specifically asks for written works you have completed, so it would help somewhat there.savinggrace wrote:Quick question if anyone can answer this for me:

I am writing my thesis this year and usually it takes 2 years for it to become published; but my name has been published before from working as a research assistant...would that be something I could mention (especially for HLS)?lawschool22 wrote:HLS specifically asks for written works you have completed, so it would help somewhat there.savinggrace wrote:Quick question if anyone can answer this for me:

Thanks for the quote, but I couldn't bury myself in gettier problems on the daily basis (hope you had some Nozick and Colin McGinn analysis in there though bee).muzzy wrote:Too true it hurts.bee wrote:snagglepuss wrote:this. on a more personal note, though, i spent so long agonizing over mine and in retrospect, shouldve just kicked back and enjoyed the last bits of ug instead. my monster paper on gettier problems wasnt worth it..
I do echo everything she's saying though. I ruined the last month of my UG experience fitting my thesis, defense, and presentation in to grad early. Thesis just wasn't worth it.

I have heard of other finance majors getting away with 30 pages for an honor's thesis including exhibits. I'm hoping to be done by February. Then I am taking Differential equations, age of the dinosaur, Honor's thesis class, and global finance. I can not wait. I still have all of my captainly duties and a shit ton of erging to do. But it'll still be a lot of fun.lawschool22 wrote:This is even more true if you're planning on heading to law schoolmuzzy wrote:Too true it hurts.bee wrote:snagglepuss wrote:this. on a more personal note, though, i spent so long agonizing over mine and in retrospect, shouldve just kicked back and enjoyed the last bits of ug instead. my monster paper on gettier problems wasnt worth it..

I was accounting/finance and got away with around 30ish pages . Beautiful, what did you do your thesis on? If there was an alley close by I would definitely go bowling more often. I would love to open a bowling alley/ bar by my campus. It would make a killing.lawschool22 wrote:I was accounting/finance and got away with around 30ish pages . It was related to the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act enacted after Enron. I analyzed the cost to public companies of implementation of the act and on-going monitoring activities, and argued that the increased costs to firms (and hence lower profits) left the investing public at-large worse off (financially speaking) than they would have been without the act and the occasional large failure like Enron.ftbchamp231 wrote:Beautiful, what did you do your thesis on? Also, yes - bowling/alley bar + college town would be a great business.
