just jumped on the december bandwagon. Was going to do october so I could apply ED but I'm just not where I want to be. I'd probably get in to my top choice but wouldn't get any money. I've made the decision that a few months extra to significantly reduce debt is worth it.

mind if i ask what you're pting at and what your goal score is? and what's your top choice law school?

i'm in a similar situation (:

I float around the low 160's, hoping to get consistent in the high 160's range, or even break 170. I'm in somewhat of a unique situation because I'm a non-trad that is pretty much tethered to the Dallas area. Since I'm staying in Dallas, its pretty much SMU or nothing. I work full time so I'm doing the part time evening program. low 160s are above the median for the part time program but isn't anything that is going to wow adcomms.

Up until now I've used the MLSAT books, PS LR bible, velocity, and the LG games from 7sage. I just bought the lsat trainer and the cambridge LR bundle so I'm hoping this will help get more of a consistent strategy.

What's been more helpful in getting these LR question types down for you guys, MLSAT or the LR Bible? I like the breakdown in MLSAT better, but I'm still fucking up in LR (-6 per section). I need to get this way down before Dec.

People in the October thread really like LSAT Trainer for LR. I used BP and its methods + blind review got me to a consistent -3 or less combined on LR

I think you need to target which areas you are having trouble with. Do you log your answers into http://www.lsatqa.com or the 7Sage lsat grader? These sites will break up your answers into categories and show you which types of LR questions you're missing. From there it's about reviewing the respective chapters in MLSAT LR then drilling from something like Cambridge LR Questions Grouped By Type until you've mastered that question type.

I've read all the Bibles and MLSAT books, taken about 10 PTs and done about 60% of Cambridge's LR and LG drilling packets. (I was kind of planning on taking the October test.) Now I'm thinking about doing the LSAT trainer along with the rest of drilling and PTs 50-69. Any suggestions/comments on this?

Also, if anyone would like to study together and keep track of each other, shoot me a PM. I'm in South Florida if anyone would like to study in person together, too.

Cambridge-LR-packets will step your game up to a new level.

And MLSAT was better than powerscore in terms of understanding the material.

How do you guys get the most out of blind review?

I always do a section or set of questions, then go over it blind review, then I'll go over why i got those questions wrong. is this essentially what you guys are doing?

Do people generally find the Prep Tests that Cambridge drill packs come from useful after using the Cambridge packs to drill by question type? For example say I drill some amount linear games from prep tests 1-38, and then approximately a week later do a timed LG section from 1-38, would this generally be considered effective studying?

I'm worried that running into questions I am familiar with would negate the purpose of completing a section timed... But drilling and practicing timed sections in the same month is appealing to me.

What's up December crew! I also posted this in the Oct thread. I need advice on whether to postpone my October administration or not. To summarize, my next take would be my third and I am eligible for a fourth in December. Ideally, I'd only like to take it one more time.I scored in the high 150s with very inefficient prep the previous two times I sat for the exam. I started off strong in July prepping for the October administration but a family matter that has since been resolved derailed that and I did very little prep from the end of July until now.

I've taken three PTs this "study cycle" and scored 169 (PT 45), 163 (PT 62) and 169 (PT 65). I attempted PT 68 today after the long lay off and LG G3 tripped me up. I simply did not finish.I am a URM with a 3.3X looking to hit at least 170.

Would it be wise to drill/time individual sections for a week or two to get back into the swing of things then PT knowing I have the December 4th take? Or should I go all in for December and use the fourth take in February to potentially get off WLs/squeeze out some more scholly money? Any advice would be much appreciated!

I think you should take it both times. Unless you're thinking about postponing another cycle, you've nothing to lose.

I’m with you 100%. Beginning my retake schedule today starting with Basic Linear/Pure Sequencing drilling. fun times ahead!

Well I'll be damned if I have to have another surgery! The third for me this year! I'm not pushing this test back again though. I refuse! My studying has been interrupted by these dang surgeries, so I'm starting over. This next surgery will be in the next three weeks. Hopefully I can still manage to get a few hrs in a day after this. Anyone at the beginning of their studies, or is everyone far along? I'm using the 7Sage online course and I have Manhattan's LR Guide. I'm focusing on LR at the moment with as many LG as I can fit in while at work. Havent attempted RC yet. I have faith though! Good luck all!

Drilled 25 Basic Linear Balanced Games, most <8 mins and apart from 1 or 2 −1s, all −0s. Some redos and sequencing tomorrow following by Manhattan LR chapters.

At this point i'm finding myself able to do even the hardest games in under 10 minutes with -1 to -0 accuracy, and my latest LG section was -3 total, which is up from -14 at the Diagnostic. Sometimes there's a wrench from one of the really old LSATs (pre 94) that throw me off, but overall LGs is a skill it seems that just meshes really well with my style of thinking. LR's has been a work in progress but I've improved from -10/-11's when i started to -6/-5's over 4 weeks and I'm looking to build up to -2/-3's in the next few weeks. RC is still my tough spot, but I've noticed 2 trends. 1) if i slow it down to 13 minutes in the passage I often go from -2 or -3 off a passage to -1 or -0, though science articles are still a tougher read for me. I'm hoping that what that is implying is that my weakness is going through the passage too quickly and not absorbing it, hence killing me on the questions. Hopefully I can become more natural at quick reading and understanding. A good plan B though is to focus on 3 LR's in the 35 minutes and then guess the section with the fewest #, which if i could walk away with -0/-1 off per passage, and then get at least 1 or 2 from guessing, that is still a nice jump from my atrocious -10/-11 average that is killing me in my PTs.

I'm gunning for about 172ish on the big day, which means my margin of error is slim, so I gotta really focus in on refining those RC and LR skills and maintaining the LG.

7sage recommends doing a game 10 times or until you can do it perfectly and very quickly. People in the Oct SWEAR by this method. Apparently it enforces your basic understanding of LG, so even when you encounter a game that has different details, the "muscle memory" still kicks in. I'm signed up for Oct, and have now given up on drilling Cambridge. Drilling 1-38 didn't help me one bit on my previous PTs (all 50s/60s), so I'm now going to use the 7sage method + all the LG sections I've already used while PTing from the 50s and 60s. Hoping that this will make me very used to the games I see on the real LSAT (:

If I end up retaking in Dec, I'm definitely going to do the same with the level 3/4 games from Cambridge.

Huh. Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Definitely going to be trying that now. Man, December seems to be coming so quickly.
