165-167/3.95+ from HYP for HLS
I took the June LSAT and think I got between a 165-167. With above a 3.95 from HYP and some solid work experience/softs, do I have a shot at HLS if I apply right when the app goes live?

No.
I don't think it's realistically possible to go to HLS if you have anything less than a 173.
I mean, they already get tons of people with a 173+ and with GPA as solid as yours.

If you do get a 165-170, I say retake for sure. Your GPA is extremely good, and considering that it came from HYP, that holds even more weight. It'd be a shame for you not to get a 173+ and risk it.

Yale College publishes this: http://ucs.yalecollege.yale.edu/sites/d ... istics.pdf
While the mean accepted Yale College student at HLS has a 173, the mean GPA is a 3.77. So can't .2 higher than the GPA mean compensate for 6 points on the LSAT?

Honestly, I think you probably have a shot, but you would be in way better shape if you just gained a few extra points. If you have a 3.95 from HYP, I'd be really surprised if you couldn't hit low 170s with some studying. Don't waste the hard work that went into that beautiful GPA!Justicia1776 wrote:I took the June LSAT and think I got between a 165-167. This isn't the right forum for a question like this.
Anyway, are you AA/URM?

Maybe you have a shot, but if you retake and score 170 or above you are probably in. I would be surprised if someone with a 3.95 from HYP couldn't eventually work his/her way up to a 170.

There are graphs here of % admitted with different LSAT/GPA combos. Self-selected and reported data, so it will be skewed up. However, you can see that the difference is pretty extreme between a 167 and a 173 with your GPA.

(click on admission graphs on the left and then select the school you want to see/the years you want data from)
ETA I'm bad at computers. Link fixed.

Here is something for you.Justicia1776 wrote:@Eberry No and no.
Even considering HYP, you are likely out.
What are your softs? Did you win an Olympic medal and/or write a bestseller?

As others have said, why not just retake and get a 170+? It should definitely be within your realm of ability, and it all but guarantees your acceptance.
Settling at a 165-169 for HLS is taking a chance that you really don't need to.

Took the LSAT once before and got low 160s. Have done great deal of prep... So, in other words, not too sure a third retake will help.

Blueprint materials, MLSAT LG, Cambridge packs, repeatedly redoing games from PTs...

Shit, bro, I don't know what to tell you.
Come back with your score, though. We can go from there.

That sucks man.
I used Powerscore's Logic Games Bible and really liked it if you haven't tried that yet.
