Sitting Down for a Practice Test
How do you force yourself to sit through a practice test -- or 20 of them?

Think real hard about graduating from a TTT/TTTT that will leave you unemployable with crippling debt.

Just knock the first one out. After that, it's not that big of a deal anymore.

Re: Sitting Down for a Practice Test
I did the first out of curiosity.
Was horrified by the realities of a 0 prep score (that I also took on my bed with the TV on--to give you an impression of how ignorant I was to the test's difficulty/importance.) That score motivated me to take as many as possible in the next few weeks.
Watching my score go up rather quickly between tests kept me motivated. By the 10th test or so I actually began enjoying doing practice tests--it's a challenge but there is no real pressure.

this may sound lame, but my UG focus was civil rights and reading about people who went to med school/law school/ any school while working full time and overcoming and battling society made me studying for the lsat seem like a breeze. so basically i guilted myself for having it so easy and gave myself the mental prep talk "if so-and-so could do this AND this AND this then you can sit still for 5 hours and think about words!"

Re: Sitting Down for a Practice Test
It's like doing a marathon. It's really hard to just go out and run 26.2 miles with no training. You just keep doing it and doing it until your mind adapts to all the work. I remember when I started, I would get into section 2 and just want to take a break or say "fuck this", but just power through it. You'll probably get a lot wrong at first just because you're tired of looking at questions. But your mind will build up the endurance that it needs. Just keep at it. 1 section will become easier, then 2, then 3 then 4, and before you know it, you're knocking out whole pt's no problem. The mental endurance to take the test is just as important as the mental ability to succeed at it.
Also, focus on something to get you started. When I started, I would write out schools I wanted to go to on a note card and put it in front of me for motivation. Also, before I took a PT, I would go into the bathroom and psych myself up like I was going into a football game or something. Find what motivates you.
