Pt 61 rc q12
Can anyone help me understand why answer choice e is correct? The word forgery is never defined in the passage as far as I can tell and therefore I felt that I couldn't select it.

The painting discussed in the passage "The Disciples at Emmaus" was painted by Han van Meergeren but under the forged signature of Jan Vermeer. Lines 6-9.
This painting was not a copy of an original Jan Vermeer, it was in fact Han van Meergeren attempting to pass his painting of as an undiscovered Jan Vermeer. So this forgery was not a copy of a particular original work of art.
Hope that helps!
