ok i didnt know about this....

lsac suddenly requires we have a photograph taken to the center on test date? wtheck? before it was just ID and sudddenly on the ticket stub it says we need a seperate photo.

yea you need a photo of your face and shoulders. Im sure something as simple as taking a shot on a camera phone and texting it to your email to print will work fine

You're an adult. Its your responsibility to read the documents LSAC provided you. I'm not taking the LSAT and I've known about this since February.

As long as it is clear and the right size, it should be fine.

Dude thanks for this post. Otherwise I would not have known. I guess it has to be an official type of picture like taken at a passport place or a cvs... Also it CAN'T be on regular paper.

i mean i'm assuming the last standardized test requiring IDs etc was quite a while ago (well, unless you took an LSAT before this new implementation)

How were we to know this unless we took the recent previous LSAT or checked the email that was sent out in LATE May... I took the lsat in Feb and I took it in October 2010... The rule of having ANOTHER photograph.. SEPARATE from your photo ID was non existent at the time. So shut it. I'm going to sleep now. Not going to let you stress me out before I do some reading.

LOL. Seriously, guys, it's on the Day of the Test page (which I checked at least a dozen times in the week leading up to the LSAT.)

But i did make a note about "unless you took an LSAT before this new implementation" so don't go all up on me

and I guess it's just me but I tend to be extra careful and thorough on important things like the LSAT (since I don't plan on doing retakes)

"In addition, all candidates must attach to their ticket a recent photograph (taken within the last six months) showing only the face and shoulders. The photograph must be clear enough so there is no doubt about the test taker's identity, and must be no larger than 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm) and no smaller than 1 x 1 inch (3 x 3 cm). That's the only thing LSAC states on their website about the photograph that needs to be on the ticket so as long as it fits the size and the required head and shoulders, I do not think you need to worry. Besides a "passport type" photograph is almost the same thing described by LSAC, albeit without the minute details measuring the distance between the edge and the single strand of your hair.

edit: accidentally started talking about hair as if it was fabric (probably too much time on TLS, talking about "threads")

I'm not taking the LSAT, so I don't really care, but if someone could post the exact LSAT requirements (if there are different ones than the ones that appear on the Day of the Test page, which FantasticMrFox posted above) for the photograph, I'm sure it would be helpful to other test-takers.

If you are going to shoot it and print it out at home it has to be printed on photo quality paper, not regular paper.

Rather than going through the hassles involved with that (like taking the picture, having photo paper to print it on, resizing the image and all that stuff to get it printed out), it takes less than 10 minutes and less than $10 at tons of places. You walk up to the photo counter and say "passport photo please", they tell you were to stand and look. Try not to blink while they take the pic. Wait another minute or two. Hand the clerk a $10 bill. Clerk will hand you the pics and some change. Go home and glue the photograph to your admission ticket.

I've always gotten it done in <10 minutes at CVS, so I'd definitely recommend them, although you should still budget more time just in case.

It needs to be a photo taken in the last 6 months, appearing as you will on the test day (for example, beard vs. no beard), on proper photo paper. It needs to be no larger than 2 x 2 (passport photo size) and no smaller than 1 x 1. It needs to contain only your face and shoulders. There should be no doubt as to your identity when compared with you in person on test day. It must fit within the box on the ticket, which means you may have a little trimming to do if you get passport size. Print your name, LSAC number, test date, test center code on the back of the photo and tape or glue it to the ticket. No staples.

I recited that from memory, by the way. Because I read the instructions.

It took me all of three minutes and $8 at CVS.

While this advice is no longer helpful to anyone who took the LSAT today, you can get six 2x2 headshots printed on photo paper at Target's photo kiosk (usually near customer service) for $0.25 total.

In a bit of a panic now, didn't see anywhere where it says the photo must be on photo paper. Took the LSAT today and attached a picture I took myself and printed on copy paper. Proctors didn't seem to have a problem with it, is this serious enough to get my score cancelled? Where does it actually say it must be on photo paper?
