How is that more secure than finger printing?

I don't really get it myself either. I always thought fingerprinting was more secure. The ink they use isn't like the old fashioned ink. I'm a little annoyed though--now I have to go out and pay more money :(

There was a concern that they share the fingerprints with enforcement agencies. Personally, I don't mind having a picture done, although having fingerprints done would definitely be easier, and you can't forget your finger at home.
