Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
The more work you put in, and the higher number of PTs you took, the more meaningful your "gut" feeling is.
FWIW, I took 35-40 PTs, with a range of 170-180, felt the same about the real thing as I did about the PTs, ended up with a 175.

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
Felt good after October '10 test, thought it'd be 172+, ended up being 168
Feel crappy about today's test but not quite crappy enough to cancel / I really don't trust my "gut" anymore. We'll see what it ends up being. I screwed up games, literally just guessed on three questions, so that REALLY sucks.
(And I guess I'll never know how I did on each section. I'm terrified my score will be even lower than the first. Are schools you are already admitted to automatically sent new LSAT scores?)

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
I took over 35 Preptests and I took October 2010 and thought I got a 170+ and ended up with a 163. I got killed on the tricky LR though, LR is the most unpredictable.

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
I took the LSAT in Asia, so it was undisclosed, but I had a feeling my score was no higher than 170 and no lower than 166. I ended up with a 170.

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
October:
Gut feeling: 174
Actual score: 170
December:
Gut feeling: 171
Actual score: 176
But I always find that whenever I find something easy, I bomb it, and whenever I think I bombed something, I rock it. Sooo... not very helpful.

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
Studied for about 4 months for the Sept 2009 test. Highest PT was a 163 (scoring anywhere from 159-163 on about 5-6 PTs) and I got a 167. When I got out I felt like it all went well except for LG, which I thought went horribly, and I got 1 wrong in that section

Re: Past LSAT Takers--Gut Feeling vs. Actual Score
I took the Dec. test and thought I'd have about a 170, if there was a generous curve. And there was and I did. However what's interesting is that I thought I'd not really missed anything in RC, my first LR and especially my second LR. But I had panicked during the games and was bouncing back and forth between games. So my gut was feeling 170 because I thought I'd miss ten or so on LG and maybe 1 here and there on the rest. Got the scores, -3 on LG, -3 on RC, -3 on the first LR, and -5 on the second LR that I felt really really good about.
So basically my gut seems to average well, but that's about it.
